GENERAL DESCRIPTION

The Sr. Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing and reviewing procedures and equipment involved in the manufacturing processes. They will support the day-to-day operations of the facility while optimizing quality, productivity and reducing cost. They will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies to improve efficiency as well as troubleshooting any problems that may arise. This role requires a strategic mindset, hands-on expertise, and the ability to lead cross-functional teams in achieving business objectives. The Sr. Manufacturing Engineer will serve as a mentor to junior engineers and drive transformative initiatives across the organization.

 

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Reviews manufacturing processes for inefficiencies and develops/implements improvement activities.
  • Utilizes advanced problem-solving methodologies including Six Sigma and lean manufacturing principles to address complex manufacturing challenges and implement scalable solutions including identifying bottlenecks and breaking through capacity constraints.
  • Provides day-to-day support for assigned production areas.
  • Identifies root cause and implements corrective actions through various problem-solving techniques.
  • Defines and tracks KPIs to measure and improve operational performance, aligning with organizational goals
  • Designs/Re-designs cell layouts for optimal material flow and efficiency. 
  • Evaluates and creates standard work to meet quality standards and improve business continuity.
  • Ensures compliance to all company policies and maintains the proper standards of safety and quality.  
  • Communicates effectively up, down, and across the organizational structure.
  • Responsible for other duties as assigned.

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Required:
    • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical preferred).
    • At least 5 years of experience in metals machining and electronics manufacturing.
    • Experience with AutoCAD; work cell layouts and designs.
    • Established knowledge of lean or continuous improvement methodologies. 
    • Demonstrated history of implementing transformational cost savings projects/initiatives.
    • Proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment, making effective real time decisions.
    • Experience leading cross-functional teams and implementing enterprise-wide initiatives.
    • Track record of delivering measurable results in cost savings, efficiency improvements, and quality enhancements.
    • CNC Programming a plus
    • Lean or six-sigma certifications strongly preferred.
