Manufacturing Engineer Intern

Position Summary: The Engineering Internship program is a 12-week program preparing engineering focused students with exposure and experience to the different aspects of manufacturing within ASSA ABLOY. 

 

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • The internship program is a 12-week program designed to give current engineering students exposure to different manufacturing facilities focused on the full life cycle process.
  • Interns will learn about the ASSA ABLOY culture, network with leaders of the company and receive leadership training.
  • The majority of the time will be spent completing on-the-job field training in the 12-week period.
  • During the summer, Interns will be exposed to all elements of manufacturing, in many cases performing each role for a day or part of a day to understand each phase of the process.
  • Intern will be responsible for running a small project.
  • Interns will partner with departments to understand the plant and can include non-manufacturing roles like HR, Finance, Purchasing, Sourcing and Logistics (if stated interest).

 

Internship Location: Monroe, NC

 

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

 

  • Majoring in Engineering
  • Must have completed Freshman and Sophomore year of college

  • Express ideas and information in a clear and concise manner

  • Demonstrate ability to complete tasks regardless of obstacles

 

WORKING CONDITIONS:

 

  • 40 hours per week, some time spent at a desk and other times out on factory floor.
  • Work primarily indoors with a range of temperatures.
  • Work around heavy and moving machinery.
