The Role:
As the Kitting Supervisor, you will lead and coordinate daily kitting and production operations associated with the manufacturing of automatic pedestrian doors. This hands-on leadership role balances active production support with supervisory responsibilities, including coaching team members, troubleshooting issues, and acting as a key communication link between frontline staff and upper management.
You will be responsible for setting daily performance goals, monitoring workflow, managing priorities, and ensuring timely completion of production kits. A strong focus on safety, efficiency, and adherence to 5S principles is essential. This role also involves collaborating with materials management, tracking part availability, and ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Safety minded in all work activities; suggest and recommend safety initiatives; commitment to safe work habits, maintaining work are organized aligned with 5S.
- Oversee and set daily goals for performance and deadlines in ways that comply with company’s plans at least one day ahead and communicate with subordinates. Provide constructive feedback and coaching.
- Monitor and report any part shortages or outages to management and buyers.
- Update the schedule with completed kits daily.
- Monitor and approve overtime as needed for the kitters based on the schedule and production.
- Ensure adherence to legal and company policies and procedures and undertake disciplinary actions if the need arises.
- Support any projects related to Materials Management as assigned.
- To be a working lead as and when needed.
What You Will Need:
- High school diploma or equivalent, or 3+ years of relevant experience.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite: basic knowledge of MS Excel and ERP/MRP systems.
- Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Hands-on technical aptitude with analytical problem-solving skills.
- Clear, concise technical writing and documentation abilities.
- Proactive, detail-oriented, and highly organized self-starter.
- Comfortable working independently in fast-paced, high-pressure environments.
- Continuous improvement mindset with investigative and data-driven approach.
