Credit Associate
Position Summary
The Credit Associate is responsible for assisting the overall credit Shared Service function through administration support provided to the credit and collection team. The Credit Associate is responsible for expanding their underwriting, collection, and customer service knowledge in preparation of additional responsibilities as assigned by the Director of Credit & Collections. The Credit Shared Services team has a focus on continuous process improvement and department efficiency within our credit support function.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities
- Crosstrain and administer assistance with all functions of the Shared Service Department
- Work closely with Shared Service Manager on process efficiencies
- Adherence to documented SLA’s
- Perform ad hoc reporting as requested by credit and finance leadership
- Communicate regularly with all levels of District Credit Teams
- Perform & assist underwriting analysis and investigations on existing and potential customers
- Make recommendations on extension of credit on both unsecured and secured risk as requested
- Perform collection calls for accounts at assigned levels
- Process lien waivers, various methods of payment, and account adjustments
- Field internal & external requests for credit assistance from various sources
- Reconcile short pays and Unapplied Cash on branch accounts
- Assist with review of lien / bond filing dates to ensure collectability of AR portfolio
- Follow up on disputes timely and work with Districts and salesman to resolve
- Assist with placement of accounts with collection agencies
- Participate in training & education opportunities for next level roles and responsibilities
