Material Handler

 

Job Title: Material Handler
Location: Mississauga

Major Responsibility Areas:

  • Operate forklift, hand truck or other equipment to load, unload, transport and store goods.
  • Assembly of dock lips of various sizes, using hand tools
  • Assist with inventory to determine optimal stocking levels
  • Directing flow or organization of materials, products and shipments within warehouse
  • Liaise with sister company to ensure seamless operational efficiency
  • Adhere to all safety policies and procedures
  • Promote the company’s operational visions, values, and goals
  • Participation in training or other team activities to support ongoing continuous improvement
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Manager, or his/her designate.

Future Responsibilities:

  • Arranges for shipping of outbound freight including documentation and complete systemic transactions
  • Maintains schedules for inbound and outbound shipments.
  • Responsible for ensuring organization and cleanliness of the warehouse, specifically for inventory counts
  •  Cycle count shop inventory

Qualifications:

  • 2 – 3 Years relevant Experience
  • Basic MS Excel skills
  • Experience with Inventory/Warehousing module of an ERP system
  • Proficiency with Microsoft office Products (Work, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Strong communication skills, oral and written.
  • Works well under supervision, and able to follow instructions accurately
  • Strong attention to detail and good analytical skills
  • Ability to multitask & work under pressure
  • Reliable transportation to and from the workplace
  • Experience driving forklift loading and unloading, especially large and challenging shipments.
  • Requires the ability to function as a team member and contribute to group goals.

  • Demanding work environment
  • Usage of a computer and other office machinery
  • Work 6am-2:30p
