Position Summary:

Wesko Locks is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Machine Operator to join our production team. The successful candidate will be responsible for assembling lock components and related hardware according to established specifications and quality standards. This position plays a key role in ensuring the consistent production of high-quality products that meet our customers’ expectations.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

  1. Product Assembly
  • Set up and operate manual machines such as foot presses, drill presses, and other production equipment.
  • Load raw materials and remove finished parts while maintaining consistent and accurate operation.
  • Perform basic measurements and visual inspections to verify part quality.
  • Follow detailed work instructions and specifications to ensure accuracy and consistency.

 

  1. Production Support
  • Follow daily production schedules and work orders to meet output targets.
  • Identify and report material, tooling, or equipment issues to supervision.
  • Maintain accurate production records and documentation as required.
  • Keep work areas organized to ensure efficient production flow.
  • Conduct inspections and verify assembled products meet quality and performance standards.
  • Identify and report non-conforming materials or products to the appropriate department.
  • Participate in continuous improvement activities to enhance quality and efficiency.

 

  1. Quality Assurance
  • Inspect finished parts to ensure they meet Wesko Locks’ quality standards and tolerances.
  • Report non-conforming parts or materials to the appropriate personnel.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance quality and efficiency.

 

  1. Equipment & Safety
  • Operate machinery safely and in accordance with company procedures and training.
  • Perform routine maintenance such as cleaning, lubrication, and basic adjustments.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment and follow all PPE requirements.
  • Report any safety hazards, equipment malfunctions, or incidents immediately.

 

 

 

 

  1. Additional Responsibilities
  • From time to time, workload requirements may change, and the employee may be required to perform other duties or tasks as assigned by Wesko Locks to support operational needs and business objectives.

 

Qualifications:

  • Experience: 1–3 years of experience operating manual production machinery in a manufacturing environment (preferred).
  • Technical Ability: Understanding of basic mechanical equipment operation, material handling, and measuring tools.
  • Computer Skills: Basic use and understanding of different software such as Microsoft Excel, Smartsheet and Thrive
  • Skills and Attributes: Mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, problem-solving, teamwork, and reliability.
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or certification in manufacturing processes is an asset.
  • Eligibility: Legally entitled to work in Canada.

 

Physical Demands:

  • Physical Demands
  • Ability to stand for extended periods during production operations.
  • Frequent use of hands and arms to handle materials, operate tools, and assemble components.
  • May be required to lift, carry, or move parts and materials up to 50 lbs.
  • Occasional bending, reaching, and walking within the production area.

 

Schedule:

  • 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday
  • Shift timings and schedules may change from time to time based on operational requirements.
