This is an opportunity for a service-minded professional to work, learn and grow with a team of dedicated professional technicians whom serve our customers with door automation service to our customers. Install automatic and manual door equipment, storefront framing, miscellaneous break metal coverage, and tie into electrical power supplied as necessary.  Install and assist in the installation of revolver doors as needed.

 

ASSA ABLOY Entrance Systems, Pedestrian Door Solutions is seeking candidates for an Installation Manager for the Mississauga, Ontario office. 

 

 

Responsibilities:

 

  • Responsible for supervision and management of all Installation Technicians and subcontractors activities including office staff in the Mississauga, ON branch office.
  • Managing multiple installation projects each month and ordering and releasing of all equipment via the factory and customer service.
  • Supervise the coordination of all scheduling of projects with the end-user customer.
  • Accountable to meet established goals and growth objectives under the direction of the the District Manager.
  • Supervise and delegate responsibilities to administrative personnel (scheduling, ordering, install coordination).
  • Develop and maintain relationship with End-users as well as General Contractors, Sub-contractors, Architects and Suppliers.
  • Maintain communication with Factory regarding backlog and job release (Work In Progress).
  • Interact with Sales Department on a continual basis to determine proper labor hours, and proper margins on projects.
  • Review projections and forecast reports frequently.

 

 

Requirements:  The successful Candidate will possess the following experience:

 

  • Must have prior experience directly managing/supervising Field Technicians in the Door Automation/Construction Industry. 
  • Background in the successful planning and completion of contracted jobs in the Construction Industry.
  • Prior experience supervising administrative personnel in the instruction of their duties as it relates to scheduling, ordering, and coordinating installation activities.
  • Possess the flexibility to work a varying schedule (different hours of the day, evenings and weekends if necessary).
  • Prior experience installing electromechanical products is desired.
  • Exceptional communication (written/verbal) skills.
  • Proven hands-on experience in the development of relationships with General Contractors and End-Users across the Retail, Healthcare, Government and additional sectors as well as sub-contractors across this spectrum.
  • Proven experience in dealing with vendors and suppliers in the proper ordering and timely supply of products.
  • The ability to read and interpret construction specifications and drawings.
  • Experience in establishing monthly forecasting and results.
  • Computer experience in Microsoft Office and Baan.

 

This is a team approach with effective communication skills to successfully work with other departments such as: Sales Reps, Field Operations, Supply Chain, Parts Department, Customer Service, etc. Must be an excellent communicator to lead, manage and motivate the staff in an effective and fair manner.

 

This position demands a results-oriented approach coupled with high-energy, reliability and be disciplined.  High School Diploma (required) and AA, BA, BS preferred.
