Dock Products Canada is seeking a General Manager to join Dock Products Canada Inc. in our Mississauga Office.

The purpose of the position is to lead and direct the operations on the 3 locations within Ontario, and Quebec. In addition, this position is responsible for the financial and operational performance, business planning, implementation of key initiatives, the development/growth of the business and its profitability. Ensures compliance with the parent organization, corporate operating policies, and legal requirements. Our goal is to serve our customers better and with the same passion for our people. Key Responsibilities

  • Develop short and mid-range business plans that support the execution of the strategy and ensure they are effectively communicated.
  • Direct and participate in planning processes for the development and growth of people.  Model accepted leadership behaviors and lead by professional example.
  • Provide direction and leadership in development and communication of operating policies and processes.  Ensure for continuous improvement of the integrated principles of service, quality and price.
  • Responsible implementing and championing corporate/global policies and procedures encompassing the organizations accounting, sales, human resources, information systems functions as well as any other administrative services.
  • Responsible for developing corporate budgetary and strategic plans, measuring overall performance of each function/operation.
  • Executes implementation of corporate objectives/initiatives (i.e Safety, Quality, Market Pricing, Human Resources, etc.)
  • Build effective customer relationships and appropriate metrics of performance and satisfaction
  • Manage Corporate Compliance, proper business practices and code of conduct.  Ensures operations conform to local, state and federal regulations.
  • Handles/manages local litigation issues.
  • Manages labor relations with unions.
  • Establishes and maintains positive public relations to promote a reputation of quality for Dock Products
  • Directs managers and department heads to achieve planned goals and initiatives.
  • Flexibility to travel to all business locations (30-40% travel can be expected). Canada and US travel

 

Qualifications

     Education:  Bachelor’s degree.

     Experience:

  • 5 years managerial experience in a multi-functional business related role.
  • Bilingual French (preferred)
  • Evidence of strategic thinking and planning with solid managerial leadership experience.
  • Requires combination of experience of sales, marketing and customer service.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the service business organization and customer base.
  • Advanced process capability and application in change management.
  • Demonstrated knowledge in people development and human performance.
  • The leadership stature and communication skills to function in a business leader role at the executive level.
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize.
  • Ability to delegate effectively.
  • Demonstrated capability to influence and work through others to achieve goals; demonstrates customer focus. Excellent verbal/written communication skills and positively influence/motivate others to achieve goals.
