Tool and Die Technician - 3rd Shift

Ceco Door (an ASSA ABLOY company) is expanding! This role will be based on-site at our manufacturing facility located in Milan, Tennessee.    

 

What would you do as our Tool & Die Technician - 3rd Shift?

You will build, repair and maintain all tools, dies, die components, fixtures, gauges, and special machinery throughout the facility.

 

You would also:

  • Work with management and engineering teams to plan and install new machinery and equipment.
  • Contribute in the design of fixtures and tooling.
  • Utilize tool room equipment, minimize downtime situations or when critical machinery is not functioning properly.
  • Troubleshoot automated tools, dies or equipment connected with any PLC controls.
  • Assist maintenance and electricians as necessary.
  • Perform special assignments and projects as assigned.
  • Actively participate in providing a safe and harmonious working environment for all employees
  • Assure compliance with federal, state, local and corporate governance policies, regulations and laws, AADG programs and policies and the ASSA ABLOY Code of Conduct

 

The Skills and Experience you need:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Minimum of 1 year of relevant tool and die or machinist experience required or certification from a state vocation school.
  • Ability to work shifts up to 12 hours and more than 40 hours per week as scheduled. 
  • Previous experience or exposure to using machinery and equipment like milling machines, lathes, surface grinders, radial arm drill presses, heat treat ovens, hardness testing equipment, arc welders, mig welders, cutting torches, assorted tool room small tools, forklift and hand truck. 
  • Proficient communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, organizational, follow-up and a high comfort level balancing multiple priorities or projects simultaneously
  • Must excel working in a fast-paced environment.
  • Previous exposure or experience to reading and interpreting technical drawings, sketches, blueprints, and working with close tolerances.
  • Physically able to lift up to 50 lbs. for approximately 30% of the time. Ability to walk and stand for the entire shift.
  • Comfortable and knowledgeable dealing with shop mathematics
  • Previous experience/exposure working within Metal Fabrication, Hollow Metal, Door or Building Materials industries are highly desirable.
