Technical Support & Training Specialist

What would you do as our Technical Support and Training Specialist?

In this role, you will be responsible for providing technical support and training for both internal teams and external partners. Responsibilities include offering product guidance, interpreting codes and certifications, and consulting on specifications and applications. The position also delivers training on a wide range of technical topics to enhance product knowledge and application.

 

You would also:

  • Provide technical consultation to building segments, sales/service teams, customers and engineering groups.
  • Manage and coordinate revisions, updates, edits, proofing and/or incorporating corrections and coordination with ASSA ABLOY Door Group Marketing Ceco’s Correspondence Course, Ceco’s public website and distributor website.
  • Oversee the partnership with Operations, IT and Engineering teams to develop and maintain standards and test protocols based on customer feedback and market needs.
  • Manage multiple projects with competing deadlines.
  • Apply in-depth knowledge of Ceco products, applications, and limitations for end users.
  • Visualize design applications and offer acceptable solutions that comply with local, state, and national codes, fire ratings, and industry standards.
  • Coordinate updates and revisions for training materials, websites, and correspondence courses.
  • Deliver technical support and certification letters to architects, contractors, and internal teams.
  • Compile and relay sales leads/insights obtained from architectural and contractor interactions to appropriate DSS sales agency and distributor.
  • Stay current on all new product launches and trials, including their applications, intended use, and functionality, to effectively train others or provide technical support as needed.
  • Coordinate job-specific letters and certificates of conformance.
  • Approve purchase orders for inspections and compliance fees.
  • Supervise and direct Technical Support Specialist.
  • Develop, lead, and continuously improve training programs for internal teams, distributors, and sales agencies.
  • Design and deliver training content aligned with Ceco’s strategic goals, including new product and service introductions.
  • Create and present training materials for Customer Service, Order Management, and other internal departments.
  • Coordinate guest speakers, subject matter experts, and cross-functional contributors for training sessions.
  • Establish and maintain training facilities and resources to support effective learning environments.
  • Present proven sales training techniques and adapt methods based on audience needs and feedback.
  • Manage training budgets and gain necessary approvals for “Best in Class” education initiatives.
  • Stay current on instructional design trends, training technologies, and industry best practices to enhance program effectiveness.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Assure compliance with federal state, local and corporate policies, regulations, AADG programs and policies and the ASSA ABLOY Code of Conduct

 

 

The Skills and Experience you need:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience, required.
  • Architectural Hardware Consultant/Certified Door Consultant certification, preferred.
  • 5+ years of related experience within sales, customer service, or engineering department in relevant industries.
  • 3-5 years of sales education and /or training.
  • Strong understanding of product specifications, installation practices, industry compliance standards, test methods, order processing and engineering and hardware applications.
  • Hollow metal Industry knowledge with both SDI and HMMA/NAAMM.
  • Knowledge of building codes, product certifications, and fire labeling requirements, preferred.
  • Experience supporting architectural, contractor, or customer service teams.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to translate technical information for diverse audiences.
  • Excellent presentations skills; developing and delivering training.
  • Strong multitasking skills with the ability to manage multiple assignments simultaneously and meet deadlines.
  • Demonstrated sense of urgency and responsiveness when interacting with customers, contractors, architects, and sales agencies.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite; experience with presentation and training tools.
