Quality Engineer

Our Ceco brand is building out our Engineering Team! We are adding a Quality Engineer role that will be based on-site out of our Milan, Tennessee facility.

What would you do as our Quality Engineer?
You will play an integral role on our Engineering Team by providing quality engineering expertise in assessing and improving process capabilities and controls while reducing scrap and rework, lowering the cost of quality and increasing customer satisfaction..
You would also:
- Plan, direct, and analyze studies, experiments, projects etc. to improve process capabilities, process controls, product performance, and reliability.
- Develop and implement inspection and sampling techniques, control plans or process control procedures that will insure that finished products meet specifications.
- Interact with the appropriate departments to compile and analyze information for resolving complex issues and problems that arise.
- Research and evaluate new technology, techniques, etc. for improving process capability, process controls, and product quality.
- Provide technical support to manufacturing engineering, production, customer service, Product Development, etc. regarding the use of appropriate data gathering and problem-solving techniques.
- Help establish effective methods of determining and measuring customer satisfaction.
- Help maintain an audit program that accurately gages the quality of products leaving this facility.
- Visit with prospective vendors/suppliers of raw material and equipment.
- Visit customers and suppliers when necessary to investigate specific quality problems.
- Design, specify etc. gauging, measuring equipment and trach the use thereof as required.
- Actively participates in providing a safe and harmonious working environment for all employees.
- Assures compliance with federal, state, local and corporate governance policies, regulations and laws, AADG programs and policies and the ASSA ABLOY Code of Conduct
- Other duties as assigned.
What we are looking for:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or a related field of study.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience working in a quality control/quality assurance in areas of increasing responsibility (should include process capability studies, process control plan creation, PFMEA, SPC, and other statistical techniques). Design of experiments would be a plus
- Lean/Six Sigma Green or Black Belt certification desired
- ISO 9001:2015 Internal or other quality management systems preferred.
- Proficient using Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, etc.) and automated drawings.
- Ability to multi-task and handle tasks or projects with competing priorities.
- Possess excellent analytical, problem-solving and communication skills.
- Familiarity with APQP principles and techniques a plus.
- Certification as a quality engineer/analyst preferred.
- Must be willing to travel as required
