Payroll Specialist

Ceco Door (an ASSA ABLOY company) is adding a Payroll Specialist to our Finance team based in Milan, Tennessee. This is an on-site role base out of our manufacturing facility.

What would you do as our Payroll Specialist?

In this role, you will be an integral part of the Accounting Team by specializing in the Payroll area. You will be responsible for handling and maintaining various accounting and payroll processes.

 

You would also:

  • Prepare and submit weekly and semi-monthly payrolls accurately and on-time
  • Accurately submit new garnishments/child support orders to corporate office
  • Maintain all payroll spreadsheets and distribute to appropriate people
  • Submit Work Assessment hours in Union website
  • Provide support to both internal and external stakeholders
  • Ensure vendors are set up properly based on a properly completed vendor form
  • Analyze and distribute information/reporting to management to assist in making financial decisions
  • Prepare check requests for items withheld from payroll for payment to third parties (i.e. Union Dues, United Way, etc.)
  • Fill leased vehicle requests and communicate to appropriate people
  • Complete month-end closing activities, prepare and post journal entries, and prepare monthly analysis to reconcile the general ledger accounts in an accurate and timely manner
  • Research for audits and tax packages
  • Implement and maintain internal financial controls and procedures
  • Other assignments as requested
  • Assure compliance with federal state, local and corporate policies, regulations, AADG programs and policies and the ASSA ABLOY Code of Conduct

 

 

The Skills and Experience you need:

  • Associate’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or a related field is preferred
  • 3-5 years of payroll and related accounting experience
  • Previous working knowledge of ADP (Payroll, E-Time, Enterprise and GL a plus)
  • Exposure to MacPac/AS400 and JD Edwards is a plus
  • Financial, accounting, bookkeeping experience
  • Excellent communication, follow-up, analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Possess a level of confidentiality, as well as a strong attention to detail
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite: Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Excellent organization and time management skills
  • Ability to juggle multiple projects at the same time and meet deadlines
