The Product Manager for Industrial Dock Equipment will lead the industrial dock equipment portfolio and be responsible for crafting and executing strategic product roadmaps, leading cross-functional teams, and ensuring the entire product lifecycle aligns with market demands, business objectives, and regulatory standards.  The Product Manager will spearhead innovation initiatives, conduct comprehensive market research to identify customer needs and industry trends, translate findings into a robust product strategy and roadmap, and collaborate closely with engineering, sales, and marketing teams to ensure successful product development and market positioning.  This role will focus on scheduling, cost, supply chain, risk mitigation, and a solid understanding of industry regulations, and the ability to balance technical excellence with business objectives.

 

Responsibilities for Product Manager

  • Lead the strategic development and management of Parts Accessories Catalog Equipment products, including sectional loading docks, dock levelers, vehicle restraints, dock seals, dock boards, ramps, mezzanines, industrial handling equipment, doors, and associated technologies.
  • Conduct market analysis and assess customer needs within the industrial, construction and logistics sectors to identify opportunities for product improvement and innovation.
  • Collaborate closely with engineering teams to translate market requirements into technical specifications and ensure the successful development and launch of new products.
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive product roadmap, aligning with business goals and industry trends.
  • Work closely with sales and marketing teams to define positioning, messaging, and to-to-market strategies for industrial dock equipment products.
  • Develop and manage product budgets, forecasts, and pricing strategies to optimize profitability while maintaining competitiveness in the market.
  • Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to evaluate product performance and guide continuous improvement efforts.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers, gathering feedback and insights to drive continuous improvement and innovation.
  • Stay informed about advancements in industrial dock equipment, safety regulations, and technology trends to inform product decisions.
  • Act as a subject matter expert, providing guidance and training to internal teams and external stakeholders.
  • Maintain professional and technical/product knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing technical/specialty publications, and participating in professional associations.
  • Ability to travel 25-50% 
  • Preferred candidate will work on-site in Mequon, WI

 

Qualifications for Product Manager

 

  • Bachelor’s degree (BS/BA) in Engineering, Sciences, Business, or a related field preferred; minimum of 7 years prior program or significant project management experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform the essential functions of the job typically acquired through ten or more years of related work experience, including five or more years leading multiple projects/programs of varying complexity and scope and direct leadership of teams.
  • Proven track record in product management within the industrial equipment, construction or logistics industry, with a specific focus on dock equipment.
  • Considerable experience with new product development program management through a combination of leadership and skills, including the ability to ask penetrating questions, exhibit deep understanding, detect unstated assumptions, and accomplish conflict resolution.
  • PMP certification is preferred.
  • Possesses high ethical standards.
  • Ability to work in a cross-functional environment.
  • Experience with Earned Value Management a plus.
  • Open to change and strives for continuous improvement.
  • Working knowledge of and prior experience with cross-functional teams.
  • Understanding of financial and labor cost systems.
  • Ability to prioritize, balance, and manage multiple efforts with strong results/goal orientation.
