The position will be responsible for product ownership of real-time location services (RTLS) software solutions, specifically for Ultra-Wideband (UWB) tags and anchors.  This includes location engine, deployment management software, and mobile applications.

The position includes gathering market requirements for RTLS use-cases in industrial and healthcare settings, converting these requirements into features for development teams, and working with the development teams to build these features and bring them to market.  This position will also be responsible for participating in the organization’s program increment planning, which includes feature generation, value-ranking, prioritization, and resource allocation.  The suitable candidate will fulfill their duties related to the products they own, as well as be responsible for working with other product owners and product managers to drive organizational improvements, especially in the area of Agile frameworks, development value streams, and operational value streams.

As our Product Owner - UWB Software, you’ll support HID’s success by: 

• Gathering market requirements for industrial/ manufacturing and health care users and generate product features with acceptance criteria for UWB RTLS software
• Working with development teams to build product features, ensure acceptance criteria is met, and release features to market
• Managing product roadmaps for UWB software solutions (location engine, deployment management software, and mobile applications)
• Working with other hardware and software POs to manage product offerings and develop full solutions 
• Scoring and ranking features for prioritization and resource allocation
• Working with product managers to manage epics and define MVPs
• Defining user-personas, empathy maps, and user journeys
• Working with the Customer Experience (CX) and Implementation teams on product support documentation and customer support, as well as deployment of software solutions on on-premise servers
• Working with the sales teams for voice-of-the-customer, product training, and sales enablement
• Working with UI/UX teams to define software product mockups and user workflows
• Driving organizational change through contributing to program increment (PI) planning and improving the use of Agile tools and methodologies

Your Experience and Background include:  

• 7 years of experience in software development, product management, and/ or product ownership of software products
• Experience in Agile frameworks
• Excellent communication and technical skills to develop relationships with business leaders, developers, sales, customers and channel partners, and customer support personnel
• Experience in both hardware and software solutions
• Experience in on-premise deployments of software solutions
• Bachelor's degree from four-year College or University, engineering degree preferred
• Candidates with an equivalent education plus relevant work experience may also be considered
• Experience working in a technology industry with an aptitude for understanding technical product details and specifications
• Ability to communicate and write in the English language effectively and verbally
• Ability to read and interpret technical journals, specifications, technical standards, etc.
• Ability to quickly learn new organizational planning and management software tools
