Curries, an ASSA ABLOY brand, is looking to add a Product Engineer to our manufacturing facility located in Mason City, Iowa.
This is a full-time, on-site role reporting directly to the Product Engineering Manager.

What would you do as our Product Engineer:
Our Product Engineers drive innovation from concept to production by designing, developing, and improving products that meet customer needs and business goals. Partner with cross-functional teams to bring ideas to life, enhance product performance, support manufacturing processes, ensure compliance, and deliver solutions that improve quality, efficiency, and customer satisfaction.
You would also:
- Plan and coordinate development of new products and improvement of existing products.
- Identify product improvement and cost reduction ideas and participate in Value Analysis / Value Engineering activities.
- Document product changes and create and maintain design specifications.
- Develop drawings of new or improved product designs utilizing CAD software.
- Coordinate product verification and testing for internal requirements as well as external 3rd party certifications (UL, Intertek, FBC, etc.).
- Analyze product specifications and custom product requests for feasibility.
- Lead the selection of sustainable materials for new or improved product designs in concert with Supply Chain and ASSA ABLOY guidance tools.
- Develop and document specifications for purchased materials and components.
- Assist with costing of new or improved products using material, labor, and overhead costs.
- Provide engineering support to Drafting, Order Processing, Customer Service, Quality and Manufacturing.
- Actively participate in providing a safe and harmonious working environment for all employees.
- Assures compliance with federal, state, local and corporate governance policies, regulations and laws, AADG programs and policies and the ASSA ABLOY Code of Conduct.
- Other duties as assigned.
The Skills and Experience You Need:
- BS degree in Engineering with Mechanical Engineering preferred
- 0-3 years, with experience in sheet metal product design preferred
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work in a team environment
- Detail oriented and good mechanical aptitude and knowledge
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical design drawings
- Ability to multi-task and handle projects with competing priorities
- Proficiency with industry standard CAD applications; Solidworks experience
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, etc)
