Maintenance Process Technician

Curries (an ASSA ABLOY company) is expanding our Maintenance Team. This role will be based out of our manufacturing facility located in Mason City, IA.

What would you do as our Maintenance Process Technician?
You will be responsible for monitoring the control systems of automated equipment using software to verify that the controls are within certain parameters troubleshooting the problem to avoid or minimize interruptions to production.
You would also:
- Troubleshoot and perform preventative maintenance on various building systems and production equipment.
- Provide training to Maintenance Mechanics with Controls and Automation.
- Be responsible for installing, maintaining, repairing, and modifying controls and automation systems.
- Use client machine drafting standards to supply equipment designs, schematics, and layouts.
- Identify potential or existing flaws, perform troubleshooting based on computer-aided formats.
- Establish and maintain working relationships with vendors to ensure prompt and accurate deliveries of materials.
- Analyze equipment installation practices and offer solutions to improve the efficacy of installation schedules.
- Perform duties assigned by and under the supervision of Maintenance Supervisor, Maintenance Manager and or Director of Operations.
- Continually promote a safe and harmonious working environment, demonstrating strict adherence to the ASSA ABLOY Code of Conduct and ASSA ABLOY Health & Safety Policy
What we are looking for:
- 3-5 years’ experience repairing mechanical systems.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Good understanding of and practical experience in PLC systems for process or material handling applications.
- Familiarity and basic understanding of Rockwell Automation programming software.
- Experience with Allen-Bradly variable frequency AC drives and reduced voltage starters.
- Experience with specifying, installing, and troubleshooting thermocouples, pressure transducers, proximity sensors, etc.
- Proven track record of successful completion of projects involving systems commissioning, software integration, calibration or troubleshooting.
- Ability to produce and interpret mechanical and electrical drawings.
- Strong written communication skills with a keen eye for detail in documents.
- Willingness to work long hours to complete job on schedule and meet standards of quality.
- Basic computer proficiency, such as data entry and Microsoft Office programs.
- Physical dexterity to climb ladders and lift 50 lbs. on a regular basis.
- Knowledge of safe working practices around moving and electrical equipment.
