Curries (an ASSA ABLOY brand) is expanding the IT Team. This is an on-site role that could be based out of our Garland, Texas Regional Manufacturing Center or our manufacturing facility located in Mason City, Iowa.

What would you do as our Developer - II?

In this role you will design, develop, write, modify and implement software solutions consisting of applications and/or components. Support and/or install software applications and components. Assist with business discovery, work from written specifications and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job, as well as maintain accurate documentation of solutions provided.

 

You would also:

  • Develop and/or provide software solutions to the business in accordance with established specifications, and considerate of IT priorities, follow a process similar to the following:
    • Participate in requirements gathering
    • Analyze technical requirements and help determine feasibility
    • Work with Business Analysts, Project managers, Stakeholders, and other team members to design and recommend solutions
    • Follow work instructions, procedures and established standards in coding and delivering the identified solution on time and on budget
    • Document and test the delivered solution, and assist with end user training as required
    • Maintain the delivered solution per business requirements
  • Enhance existing systems by analyzing business objectives, preparing an action plan and identifying areas for modification and improvement
  • Maintain existing software systems by identifying and correcting software defects
  • Provide hardware and/or software assistance to the operations team as needed
  • Create technical specifications and test plans
  • Create new and extend existing operational documentation
  • Consult closely with team lead and business management related to projects, milestones & tasks
  • Consult colleagues concerning maintenance and performance of software systems
  • Ability to comply and enforce compliance of all state and federal regulations, Company standards, and the ASSA ABLOY Code of Conduct.

 

The Skills and Experience you need: 

  • Degree in computer science, information systems or related field and/or equivalent work experience
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience developing software, gathering requirements and analysis within a manufacturing or production business environment
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience working with the following technologies: Java Development, SQL Server and/or DB2 Databases, XML, HTML5, JavaScript and/or CSS
  • Exposure and/or experience using the following technologies would be a plus: Azure DevOps, Agile Development / Agile Project Management, Java Web Services, IBM DB2 Databases, TomCat server Administration, IIS Administration, Apache Administration
  • Demonstrated track record of working through complex issues and identifying required interventions.
  • General understanding of business strategies.
  • Proven ability for effective problem analysis and problem resolution at both strategic and functional level.
  • Possess excellent interpersonal and consulting skills, as well as the ability to develop relationships and influence internal and external stakeholders
  • Possess excellent presentation (oral and written communication) skills
