We are adding a Continuous Improvement Engineer to the team! This is a brand new position that has been created to support our Curries brand (an ASSA ABLOY company). This will be an on-site role based in Mason City, Iowa.

What would you do as our Continuous Improvement Engineer?

You will improve manufacturing and production processes. Foster a safety culture and the implementation of safety policies and training to eliminate work related injuries. Lead Kaizen events and continuous improvement projects through cross-functional team facilitation and project management. Use Lean manufacturing tools (i.e. Value Stream Mapping, Six Sigma, Kaizen, 5S, Gemba walks and Root Cause problem solving) to identify and develop solutions that drive operational improvement.

 

You would also:

  • Collect production data, analyze outputs and determine corrective courses of action to help standardize manufacturing best practices.
  • Champion and promote efficiency and safety by helping to reduce waste and improvements to promote safety, quality and efficiency.
  • Facilitate operational improvement programs in order to create a culture of continuous improvement and lean manufacturing.
  • Determine the best options for process improvement tactics and monitor output under new practices.
  • Train and mentor employees on new manufacturing practices through onsite training events.
  • Perform special assignments and projects as assigned.
  • Maintain a safe and harmonious working environment holding self and others accountable to OSHA and ASSA ABLOY standards.
  • Assure compliance with federal, state, local and corporate policies, regulations, AADG programs and policies and the ASSA ABLOY Code of Conduct.

 

 

The Skills and Experience you need:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing or a related field preferred
  • 5+ years of experience leading/facilitating Kaizen events and/or a kay participant in large plant Lean transformation initiatives
  • Multi-site operations and metal fabrication a plus
  • Certified Six Sigma Black or Green Belt and Project Management certification a plus
  • Experience with Value Stream Mapping and Root Cause Analysis
  • Professional communication skills and proven leadership capabilities
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite: Word, Excel, PowerPoint
