Curries (an ASSA ABLOY brand) is looking to add an Accounting Manager to our Team! This is an on-site role based out of our Mason City, Iowa manufacturing facility.

 

ASSA ABLOY is a global leader in opening access solutions. Our Group focuses on the manufacturing of steel doors and frames within the commercial market catering to such industries as hospitality, healthcare, aerospace, defense, sporting venues and education.  

 

What would you do as our Accounting Manager?

You will be an integral member of the Finance Team tasked with overseeing and coordinating the functions of 3 remote businesses (Concept, Pioneer, and Stiles), as well as select functions of Curries, the local entity. Your main responsibilities will be to maintain the accuracy of the General Ledger, reconcile, and forecast the flow of information.

 

You would also:

  • Update and maintain the general ledger file and associated reports and verifying accuracy.
  • Oversee the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
  • Coordinate the consolidation of financial results for multiple entities, ensuring accuracy and consistency across reporting units.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive reconciliation processes for all balance sheet accounts, including bank reconciliations, sales, payments, receivables, freight, intercompany accounts, and accruals.
  • Conduct regular reviews of reconciliations to identify discrepancies, resolve issues, and ensure proper documentation and support.
  • Perform variance and trend analysis to identify areas of improvement or concern.
  • Complete mapping to JDE for accounts on monthly basis.
  • Maintain and report Sales/Use Tax information for business group on a periodic basis.
  • Provide backup for invoicing, payables, and payroll as necessary.
  • Assign work order numbers as requested for capital expenditure projects.
  • Perform other duties and special projects as required.
  • Actively participate in providing a safe and harmonious working environment for all employees.
  • Comply and enforce compliance of all state and federal regulations, Company standards and the ASSA ABLOY Code of Conduct.

 

What we are looking for:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business or related degree required.
  • Advanced Excel skills required.
  • Strong analytical and interpretation skills. Focus on analysis, as well as transactional detail
  • Finance experience within a manufacturing environment would be a plus.
  • Basic knowledge of JD Edwards and Oracle Hyperion Financial Management would be a plus.
  • Excellent communication and time management skills.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities with a keen attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize projects under tight time deadlines.
