What you would do as our Product Owner/Solution Architect for Master Data Governance
We are looking for a strategic and accountable Product Owner / Solution Architect who will take ownership of our data landscape and ensure that data is treated as a true business asset. In this role, you will be responsible for driving a structured and responsible approach to data usage, governance, and architecture, ensuring it supports both operational needs and long-term business objectives.
You will work cross-functionally at group level – partnering with IT, HR, Finance, Legal and other key stakeholders – to define data standards, policies and ways of working, and to ensure they are implemented, adopted and continuously improved across the organization.
You will report to the Product Team Manager for Master Data Governance.
You would also:
• Develop and Implement Data Governance Framework: Design strategies, define roles, and document metadata to ensure data is managed as a business asset and aligns with organizational goals.
• Establish and Maintain Data Policies and Standards: Create and enforce data policies, standards, and guidelines, ensuring compliance with regulations (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA) and managing key datasets for IT.
• Oversee Data Quality and Collaboration: Monitor data quality, set metrics/KPIs, address issues, and work closely with data owners and stakeholders to resolve incidents and drive effective data management.
• Lead Risk, Compliance, and Technology Enablement: Identify and mitigate data-related risks, ensure proper classification and access controls, and support the selection and integration of data governance tools.
• Architect and Guide Technical Solutions: Define and maintain scalable web application architecture, translate business needs into technical designs, lead technology choices, and provide technical leadership and mentorship to development teams.
The skills and experience you need
We are looking for someone who has:
• Proven experience in a combined Product Owner / Solution Architect role (or equivalent). Strong understanding of enterprise applications, data management and scalable system architecture.
• Skills in Agile ways of working, including backlog ownership and writing clear functional/technical specifications.
• Excellent communication skills who can translate between business needs and technical teams.
• The ability to think strategically with a hands-on, problem-solving mindset and good awareness of data governance, security and compliance.
Beyond technical and architectural expertise, this role requires a strong combination of communication, collaboration and strategic thinking. You are someone who can engage confidently with both business stakeholders and technical teams, translating complex requirements into clear direction and shared understanding.
You work analytically and with a high level of attention to detail, while still maintaining a pragmatic mindset that enables you to prioritise, simplify and drive progress. You are comfortable balancing long-term architecture vision with short-term delivery needs, and you make decisions based on data, context, and business impact.
Strong stakeholder management comes naturally to you – you build trust, challenge constructively when needed, and support alignment across functions, geographies and seniority levels. You navigate ambiguity well and take ownership in environments where not everything is defined from the start.
You bring a structured way of thinking, a proactive approach to problem-solving, and an awareness of areas such as data governance, security and compliance, ensuring solutions are not only scalable but safe and sustainable.
