Product Manager - Smart Residential Access Control

Driven by strong IoT and Smart Home trends, the demand for electronic and automatic locking solutions is increasing rapidly. Smart Residential is one of the fastest growing segments and a core part of ASSA ABLOY’s strategy, led within the EMEIA division by the Yale brand. The Smart Residential portfolio includes smart door locks, alarm and surveillance solutions, and a wide range of IoT enabled devices and systems.
What you would do as our Product Manager
You would be responsible for managing selected products and software within the Yale Residential Access portfolio for the Yale EMEIA region. Your role would cover all aspects of the product lifecycle, ensuring that each product evolves in line with its lifecycle stage. Your focus is to deliver market leading solutions and excellent customer satisfaction while creating long term value for the company.
You would have full product management responsibility for all Yale Residential Access products across the EMEIA region. This position reports to the Head of Product Unit Residential Access – Yale EMEIA. Willingness and ability to travel regularly within this role is important.
You would also:
• Identify range gaps and develop a clear Generation Plan, streamline the portfolio through rationalisation and brand consolidation, and support the growth of Yale’s share in the Residential Access category across EMEIA.
• Drive continuous product improvements and cost‑reduction initiatives by collaborating closely with the VAVE Manager and ensuring full compliance with the Gateway Process and required approvals at each stage.
• Plan and execute successful product launches together with the Product Marketing Manager and Marketing teams, ensuring high‑quality packaging, instructions, launch materials, on‑time delivery, and adherence to budget.
• Provide accurate and high‑quality product information and support, including data for the E‑commerce and PIM teams, contributing to product team capability building, offering technical guidance, and working as a key liaison between R&D, Quality, and Manufacturing to resolve product quality issues.
• Travel regularly within the region to strengthen collaboration, engage with stakeholders, and support effective deployment of product‑related activities.
The skills and experience you need
We are looking for someone who has:
• A university degree in Business or a related field, familiarity with business and financial principles and experience preparing business cases.
• Proven Product Management expertise, including experience in managing the product lifecycle, formulating market requirements and delivering successful market introductions. Used to formulate market requirements into use cases, user stories, and storyboards that lead to development projects covering all essentials for a successful market introduction.
• Strong commercial and strategic capabilities, demonstrated by achieving ambitious targets, driving growth, delivering cost savings, and using data and stakeholder insights to support informed decision‑making.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to influence cross‑functional and multicultural teams, explain complex concepts clearly, and interact effectively at all organizational levels. Proficiency in written and spoken English is essential.
• A proactive and resilient working style, including meeting deadlines, performing well under pressure, being a strong team player, and bringing an energetic, ambitious, and committed attitude to a fast‑paced environment.
Ideally, you have experience with IoT products—particularly in residential access—which is a strong advantage. Experience working in more than one country is also beneficial.
