Head of Program and Engineering Office - Yale Smart Residential EMEIA

 

The Head of Program and Engineering Office will lead all initiatives related to the execution of innovation projects and the further development of processes and way-of working within Yale Smart Residential EMEIA. The successful candidate will be a high-caliber technical leader with a strategic mind-set and proven track-record in the management of both electro-mechanical product development project / program as well as app/cloud development. The candidate will also used to working in an international organization with strong regional roots.

 

In addition, the role will be responsible for certain shared engineering disciplines such as industrialisation.

 

The position holder collaborates with the relevant internal and external stakeholders and will be responsible for managing and supporting the Yale Smart Residential EMEIA teams in delivering all innovation activities in the committed time, cost and quality.

 

 

Principal Responsibilities:

 

  • Oversee the execution of all Yale Smart Residential EMEIA Innovation Projects and Programs to ensure that results are delivered on the committed Quality, Cost and Time
  • Manage high-priority Project and Program issues and coordinates Task-Force activities for ongoing projects and operations
  • Establish and execute an effective Project and Program reporting
  • Implement state-of-the art program management methodologies to further reduce Time-To-Market
  • Provide effective communication regarding issues, objectives, initiatives and performance to plan
  • Contribute actively to the improvement of processes and way of working
  • Contribute to strategic initiatives
  • Host and drive steering meetings
  • Combine product development waterfall model with app/back-end agile development
  • Lead a team of program and project managers
  • Lead engineers in shared disciplines

 

Education, Work Experience and Personal Qualities:
 

  • MSc (or PhD) degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electronics or Information Technologies.
  • Previous experience in a comparable leadership position with a proven track record in product development or program management
  • Strong product background with experience in product engineering and manufacturing for mechatronic or electronic products/systems
  • Leadership experience in Program and Project Management (execution and Organizational level)
  • Experience in high volume product launches and production start-ups
  • Experience with agile methodologies and frameworks such as SCRUM, SAFe, etc
  • Know-how in state-of the art program management methodologies and tools
  • Relevant experience in a global corporation and having worked in a matrix environment
  • Fluent Business English
  • Prepared to travel internationally as needed
