Category Manager IT

What would you do as our Category Manager IT
As a Category Manager IT, you will work together with the Global IT sourcing team, the divisional IT organizations and local IT organizations and other functions such as Marketing, IP, HR etc. It requires involving the appropriate people at different levels of the organization to reach the goals for the divisions - to optimize the supplier base and processes for IT sourcing. One of the main tasks will be to ensure that the divisional and local strategies are aligned to maximize the leverage of the overall IT category. Reporting to the Head of Indirect Purchasing EMEIA, you will manage, monitor and report on the progress of the category as well as drive the improvement process of the category.
You would also be responsible for:
- Developing and executing category strategies in close collaboration with management and stakeholders, ensuring alignment with local needs and overall business targets.
- Establishing strong governance by implementing relevant tools, KPIs, and reporting mechanisms, while ensuring compliance with internal policies and external regulations.
- Acting as the central point of contact for the category, promoting best practice sharing across divisions and countries, and driving continuous improvement in procurement processes, including source-to-pay.
- Strategically managing the supplier base by identifying and selecting indirect suppliers aligned with the company’s strategic direction, consolidating spending, and leveraging group volume to optimize supplier performance.
- Monitoring and reporting category performance, ensuring delivery against expectations and contributing to long-term supplier development and operational excellence.
The skills and experience you need
We are looking for someone who:
- Holds a BSc in Industrial Management, Engineering, Logistics, or Economics (MSc or MBA preferred), or equivalent relevant experience of 5–7 years from IT Operations or IT procurement in a world-class organization and a strong track record of delivering substantial results in category management.
- Demonstrates excellent business acumen, financial competence in evaluating suppliers and business cases, strong analytical and organizational skills, and the ability to manage and interpret large volumes of data.
- Inspires and motivates teams to implement sustainable improvements, balances execution with strategic thinking, and understands how processes, technologies, and people interconnect to create value for both ASSA ABLOY and suppliers.
- Possesses excellent verbal and written communication skills, strong influential abilities, and experience working effectively across different nationalities and cultures.
- Is driven, persistent, open-minded, with a “can-do” attitude, able to thrive in fast-paced environments, and willing to travel as needed.
