Specification Writer - Door Hardware

We are seeking someone with hands-on building knowledge who understands how doors, hardware and compliance come together on real projects.

The Role

Based at our Malaga, WA office, this role is responsible for preparing accurate and compliant door hardware schedules for commercial construction projects.

You will interpret architectural drawings, apply Australian Standards and NCC requirements, and work closely with architectural representatives, distributors and customers to deliver technically sound solutions.

This is a technical role suited to someone from a building, architectural or locksmithing background who wants to apply their expertise in a structured, office-based environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed door hardware schedules for commercial projects
• Read and interpret architectural plans and specifications
• Ensure all schedules comply with NCC and relevant Australian Standards
• Provide technical support to architects, distributors and customers
• Liaise with internal teams to support project delivery
• Maintain accurate CRM and project tracking records
  
  

About You

We are specifically seeking candidates with:

• Certificate III or IV in Building and Construction, or similar qualification
• Ability to confidently read and interpret architectural drawings
• Experience in door hardware, locksmithing or architectural documentation highly regarded
• Strong understanding of Australian Standards and building compliance
• High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects
  
  

This role would suit someone who has worked as a locksmith, draftsperson, building designer, estimator or hardware scheduler.
