Your Opportunity:

The Sales Engineer will provide pre-sales technical and solution support to authorized resellers and regional sales teams, including technical specification, system design of integrated asset management solutions, onsite and webinar technical consultations, presentations and training, as well as technical certification and product training to authorized resellers. The Sales Engineer is also responsible for the development and management of technical certification training program and materials. The Sales Engineer is the support and conduit between Sales and Service Delivery functions.

Essential Functions

  • Formalization and maintenance of technical certification program materials.
  • Execution of technical certification program to reseller channel in Traka Oceania
  • Collaboration with Commercial Director and Service Delivery Manager to grow end user accounts through identification of real world problems (opportunities) and architect integrated technology solutions that deliver a measurable ROI.
  • Assist with requirements analysis, technical specification and system design of IP based asset management solutions that integrate with 3rd party access control and HR systems.  Included but not limited to Traka accredited integration Solutions.
  • Assist with pre and post-sales support by studying blueprints, plans, technical specifications/requirements and related customer documents as needed, as well as other professional and technical personnel.
  • Contribute to sales engineering effectiveness by identifying short-term and long-range issues that must be addressed; providing information and commentary pertinent to deliberations; recommending options and courses of action; implementing directives.
  • Interface with Product Management / Engineering to conceptualize solutions and construct quality business cases to drive the product development roadmap.
  • Assist in relaying the cost-benefit ratios of Traka in a customer environment; engineering or proposing changes in equipment, processes or solutions.
  • Assist with onsite and webinar technical presentations to prospects and customers.
  • Assist with trade show setup and attendance as needed.
  • Oversee and lead the L2 Technical Support for the Traka Oceania Region including issue and problem resolution within the Traka Oceania agreed SLA’s.
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
  • Contribute to the team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Manager from time to time.

 

Functional Competencies

  • Experience in solution selling, designs or installation.
  • 2-5 years’ experience in the security industry working for the manufacturer and / or security integrator.
  • In depth knowledge of access control technology and integrated security solutions is essential.
  • Passionate about providing outstanding customer service.
  • Must be comfortable working in a highly dynamic environment and able to multi-task.
  • Excellent attention to detail is a must.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Team player who will work closely with other departments.
  • Self-motivated and ability to work on own initiative.
  • Ability to prioritize workloads and tasks.
  • Flexibility and adaptability in tackling new tasks.
  • Skilled in problem solving, product knowledge, selling to customer needs, establishing software requirements, product development, presentation skills, general programming concepts, technical understanding, verbal communication, requirements analysis, innovation.
