Joining Mercury Security, part of HID: 

Located in Long Beach, California, Mercury Security is a global leader in the supply of OEM access control hardware. “Merc” has an installed base of 4 million control panels worldwide and has been providing enhanced access control technology to its valued partners since 1992. HID acquired Mercury in 2017, and integrated Oracle in 2021. The operations team aims to improve its supply chain operations in 2023 with a dedicated buyer for direct and indirect products.

 

As our Buyer, you’ll support HID’s success by: 

  • Analyze the requirements of raw material needs including preliminary specifications, preferred suppliers, and dates materials are needed.
  • Place POs with determined suppliers and follow up end to end deliveries to our Warehouse.
  • Daily/weekly calls with key supplier to understand clear to build and possible challenges.
  • Responsible for reporting all challenges with replenishment, work with suppliers on action plans and report progress to management.

 

What we will love about your background: 

  • Experience negotiating the lowest possible cost for indirect materials observing optimum quality and scheduling needs.
  • Experience supporting cost reduction activities including cost analysis, and resourcing.
  • Experience planning and purchasing more complex materials such as sub-assemblies, fabricated and machined parts.

 

Your Experience and Education include:             

  • High School diploma or GED equivalent from an accredited institution
  • 2+ years procurement experience, preferably in an electronics manufacturing environment.
  • Proficient in MS Office applications, such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
  • Working knowledge of Oracle and Agile platforms

The wage range for this role considers a broad scope of factors that are considered when making compensation decisions, including but not limited to: skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At HID, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. The base salary for CA is $77,000 to $80,000.
