Physical Access Control Solutions Business (PACS)

The PACS business is highly visible and one of our most significant portfolios within HID Global. The PACS products include smart cards, mobile access and identifications, software, services, and controllers for physical access control. This role will report into the Senior Manager of Professional Services, and will support our OEM partners in technical support, onboarding, and training cultivating our business relationships.  


As our Technical Support you’ll support HID’s success by: 


  • Onboarding and tracking new partners to help them through the development process.  
  • Developing a deep understanding of how customers use our access control controller products and leverage that information with new and existing customers.
  • Supporting customers via email and phone with strong writing skills and excellent phone manner and tracking issues using Jira service desk system.
  • Acting as a point of escalation for customer issues, providing technical assistance relating to functional issues, or product feature issues. 
  • Administering partner portal to include, but not limited to, knowledge base articles, FAQs, documentation, and other content.
  • Partnering with engineering and others on the team to escalate and resolve issues, as appropriate.
  • Maintaining current knowledge of all product offerings and technical support procedures in order to provide accurate solutions to customers. 
  • Collaborating with other departments by sharing knowledge that you’ve gained from working directly with customers.


What we will love about your background: 


  • Understanding of virtualization and use of VM Ware or other similar products.
  • Knowledge of programming languages (C/C++, C#, .NET) to be able to review logs and small code snippets.
  • Experience with operation and connectivity of networking devices (i.e. hubs/routers/switches).
  • Proven experience in problem-solving and critical thinking combined with excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to comprehend and make decisions by analyzing data and reviewing technical documentation.


Your Experience and Education include:  


  • Bachelor’s Degree with technical focus preferred.  
  • Minimum 5 years of technical support experience in physical access control field highly desired.
