District Sales Manager
ASSA ABLOY Entrance Systems, Pedestrian Door Solutions, an international manufacturer of automated doors, is seeking a District Sales Manager. This position reports to the District Manager.

Overall, this is an opportunity for a sales-minded manager to contribute to continuing sales growth while leading a team of dedicated Sales Reps.
THE POSITION
Reporting to the District Manager - The District Sales Manager is responsible for generating sustainable growth in sales and service by developing new and existing customers in Retail, Health, Hospitality, and Transportation markets. The District Sales Manager will be accountable for directing share and volume growth on a profitable basis through the planning and successful execution of all sales and service activities for their region. This individual will inspire a solutions orientation, capitalizing on opportunities to meet customer needs that exceed the competition.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Specific responsibilities are inclusive of the following:
- Develop objectives, policies, and programs for sales activities in the region, and direct the implementation of the sales efforts with key personnel toward the accomplishment of business group and corporate goals.
- Devise and implement a sales plan based upon an in-depth analysis of current future requirements.
- Lead all forecasting and budgeting and assure assigned sales volume and profit goals are achieved.
- Overseeing and drive sales growth.
- Identify specific sales targets and develop the appropriate strategy and implementation plan that complements the overall strategic plan of the company.
- Provide comprehensive, periodic reports on sales achievement versus all approved plan goals, objectives, and budgets, along with variance detail as appropriate.
- Develop, sustain, and enhance customer management relationships through ongoing communication with major accounts. Generate sales per assigned accounts that meet and exceed budget plans.
- Manage all aspects of ongoing relationships with existing customers, including all sales representative accounts and activities. Partner with team members to design and support initiatives to enhance customer satisfaction and increase sales.
- Provide input to the central product development and marketing organizations to facilitate product modifications, new product development or improvements derived from market research, sales service, or sales force feedback and recommendations.
- Continually review the region sales organization and structure to assure maximized productivity consistent with the highest standards of customer service to key customer groupings.
- Ensure that recent and future acquisitions are successfully integrated and contribute to increased volumes and profitability.
- Foster solid, team-oriented relationships with the marketing, operations, and finance organizations to ensure the success of sales strategies and attainment of financial objectives.
- Ensure the successful accomplishment of short and long-term projects by prioritizing objectives, monitoring progress through regular communications, and effectively allocating or acquiring appropriate resources.
- Establish and maintain a positive, team-oriented work environment through leadership, open communications, and personal interest in the development and concerns of employees.
- Recruit, train, and develop the team necessary to support customer requirements and sales efforts. Ensure proper organizational growth by effective training and development, hiring, and succession planning.
- Proactively participate in trade events, shows, and conferences in order to build and maintain leadership exposure and visibility for the company.
QUALIFICATIONS The successful candidate will have:
- Minimum of 5 to 10 years of experience in positions of increasing sales management responsibility, and will have demonstrated experience utilizing a consultative sales approach of providing end-to-end solution sales.
- Demonstrated success in the construction industry and experience in selling to national accounts or other major customer groups with proven success in a team based environment will be considered important.
- The District Sales Manager will have experience in sales team leadership with multiple products and broad geographical reach, and will have proven success and expertise in territory management, as well as new account development.
- Must have demonstrated his or her ability to effectively recruit, train, motivate, manage, and mentor effective sales representative, and have the ability to develop, influence, and engage strategic sales and service management programs.
- Well-developed interpersonal and collaborative skills appropriate to this position, and will be described as a dynamic, proactive, hands-on sales manager who is driven toward the achievement of team goals and objectives.
- The ability to motivate individuals to exceed expectations in terms of corporate plans and in contributing to the overall profitability of the business.
- This individual will demonstrate superior organizational development skills, including the ability to form solutions to complex issues through teamwork and cooperation across the business.
- The successful candidate will possess strong selling and negotiation skills, and will have excellent verbal written communication skills.
- A self-starter who possesses an innovative approach to business along with a strategic mindset with the ability and willingness to dig into details when needed to fully grasp business challenges.
- An entrepreneurial spirit is needed as well as charismatic leadership capabilities.
- A strong work ethic and a reputation for integrity, candor, and a high level of energy and resolve will be considered characteristics.
- An undergraduate degree is required, and an MBA would be considered an asset.
