Distribution Coordinator Lead
Job Summary
Assist Warehouse Management in leading a group of employees to accomplish the business goals and objectives. Assist with a variety of tasks related to the warehouse, including employee training, resolving employee issues, safety, maintain warehouse records, etc.
This includes organizing the workload for the area, assigning each employee’s task for the shift, and ensuring the area’s standards for safety, productivity, and quality are being met on a daily basis.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
(80%) Warehouse Leader
• Work collaboratively with Warehouse Manager and Team Leads to organize workload for the area.
• Review warehouse reports and plan shift assignments for each department.
• Provides guidance and direction for employees in the area, including training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; and resolving problems.
• Participates in developing department goals, objectives and processes.
• Serve as the primary backup to the Warehouse Manager.
• Work as a member of the team and encourages collaboration and teamwork.
• Monitor warehouse operations to ensure work requirements and customer needs are met in a timely manner.
• Identifies root-cause for warehouse issues, and assist in implementing and sustaining appropriate corrective action
• Works closely with Management, Facilities, and Maintenance staff to ensure all equipment is in safe, working order.
• Assists in delivering timely communications, displaying an attitude of consistency and fairness, focused recognition for good work and ideas, etc.
(20%) Reporting/Continuous Improvement
• Complete various end of shift reports
• Work on special projects as assigned by manager.
• Continuously monitors and maintain reporting of standards of performance at the employee and department level.
• Participates in continuous improvement processes throughout the facility.
• Recommends measures to improve warehouse methods, equipment performance, and quality of product
• Other duties as required
Education and Experience Profile
• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• 2+ years related warehouse experience required.
• Experience leading/supervising a team is preferred.
Required Skills
• An intermediate level of proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint is required.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
• Good hand-eye coordination.
• Flexibility to work overtime and weekend hours as as needed.
• Ability to lift up to 60lbs.
Work Environment:
- Working conditions are normal for a non-climate controlled warehouse.
