Head of Operations (UK&Ireland)

A senior leadership opportunity has been created as part of a recent restructure to drive end-to-end operational excellence across manufacturing, supply chain, and installation within ASSA ABLOY Limited. This new role combines strategic oversight with hands-on leadership to deliver improved productivity, cost efficiency, quality, and customer performance.  The postholder will have the opportunity to shape and influence planning, production, continuous improvement, quality, service and installation of our products.  This key role forms part of the local leadership team and will have the scope to lead design and delivery of operational excellence. 

Key Accountabilities

  • Define and execute the operations strategy to improve productivity, throughput, and service

  • Lead manufacturing, planning, procurement, logistics, and installation activities

  • Drive OTIF performance, capacity planning, and production efficiency

  • Embed lean and continuous improvement (OEE, SMED, waste reduction)

  • Ensure excellence in quality, compliance, and safety standards

  • Optimise supply chain performance and cost management

  • Lead, develop, and engage high-performing teams

Candidate Profile

  • Senior operations leader with experience in manufacturing or engineered products

  • Proven track record delivering operational transformation and performance improvement

  • Strong knowledge of production planning, lean methodologies, and supply chain management

  • Commercially aware, hands-on, and results-driven

  • Effective leader with strong influencing and people development capability

Qualifications

  • Degree/HNC in Engineering, Manufacturing, or related discipline (preferred)

  • Lean / CI experience advantageous
