UK&I Doors Division are seeking to appoint an Area Sales Manager (GB, North) to join their UK&I Sales Team.  Working as part of the sales team, the postholder will be responsible for generating and growing profitable sales through new and repeat contract projects customers. The role focuses on servicing existing customers, identifying and pursuing new customers, new opportunities, providing quotes when required, converting quotations into orders, and maintaining strong, long term customer relationships.

Main Responsibilities and Challenges

  • Meet agreed order‑ intake and revenue targets while delivering excellent customer service and ensuring customers receive the most appropriate technical and commercial solutions.​
  • Proactively identify, research, and secure new customers across all relevant industry sectors (commercial, industrial, education, healthcare etc.)​
  • Build and maintain a strong sales pipeline of opportunities​
  • Carry out structured outbound activity (calls, visits, email campaigns) to engage potential customers and promote the company’s product range​
  • When required, prepare accurate and timely quotations for door packages (utilizing the business tools and systems available), ensuring compliance with specifications, drawings, and customer requirements. ​
  • Negotiate pricing, terms, and delivery arrangements within agreed parameters​
  • Consistently secure orders to meet or exceed monthly and annual targets for order intake and revenue. Manage the progression of opportunities through the CRM system, ensuring all information is accurate and up to date. 
  • Build long‑term, loyal relationships with customers to encourage repeat business. ​
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for allocated customers, providing product advice, lead times, technical information, and commercial support. ​
  • Conduct regular account reviews to identify growth opportunities and address any service or performance issues. ​
  • Maintain a strong understanding of the company’s full product range (steel doors, timber doors, fire curtains, glazed screens, blast doors, cleanroom doors, etc.). ​
  • Stay informed about relevant regulations and standards affecting door specifications and supply. ​
  • Understand competitor offerings and pricing to help position the company’s products effectively​
  • Provide market feedback on pricing trends, customer behaviours, product demand, and competitor activity. ​
  • Support marketing initiatives by suggesting content ideas, case studies, and customer success stories.​
  • Maintain accurate CRM records, including pipeline updates, customer information, and quotation status. ​
  • Prepare weekly and monthly sales reports for management. ​
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, commercial procedures, and pricing structures

To be considered, applicants should be able to demonstrate the following skills:

  • Proven experience in either sales, estimating, or account management within manufacturing, ideally doors or construction products.
  • Strong understanding of door systems, materials (timber, composite, steel, aluminium), hardware, and relevant building standards.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, schedules, and tender documents.
  • Experience preparing accurate quotations, cost breakdowns, and bills of materials.
