The Role - what you would do as our Key Account Manager
As a Key account Manager you will operate in a B2B environment with technical products, diverse customer segments, and different cultural contexts. You will be responsible for expanding existing customers relationship, developing new customers and market opportunities, as well as delivering concrete revenue and margin results.

Portugal – North Region (Porto metropolitan area)
What we are looking for and your Key Responsibilities:
- Driving sustainable commercial growth by developing and executing strategic account plans, identifying and converting new business opportunities, increasing market share across segments, and actively managing pricing, product mix, and gross margin.
- Strengthening and expanding customer relationships through long‑term partnership building, increasing customer loyalty
- Ensuring performance and predictability by building and maintaining a healthy sales pipeline, delivering accurate forecasts and reporting, and identifying opportunities in a timely manner.
- Collaborating for strong commercial execution by aligning closely with internal teams on planning, delivery, and customer solutions, ensuring fast and professional customer follow‑up, and supporting continuous improvement of commercial processes and value propositions.
- Utilize CRM to manage account contacts, business plans, lead sharing, and activity follow-up.
- Organize and attend local/regional training courses, tradeshows, conferences, and other industry events.
- Stay up to date on ASSA ABLOY brand products, training, new product launches, and marketing initiatives.
- You have an entrepreneurial spirit and are excited about selling a full range of door opening solutions
- You are a self-motivated, organized individual who takes pride in attention to details and accuracy in their work
- You have strong written and verbal communication skills
- You’re a strong active listener and negotiator
- You can work independently but believe in teamwork
- You have the ability to read, understand specifications/facility standards, and have industry-related technical and sales aptitude
- Ability to travel within territory and meet the requirements of customers
- Join and maintain professional associations to enhance selling opportunities
The skills and experience you need:
- Your background includes a University degree (preference for specialization in related curricula such as: architectural design, engineering, construction science, management, or similar), or have work experience commensurate with minimum high school diploma
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in a business development/sales environment
- Experienced in negotiating and dealing with Architects and Engineers, Construction Companies, Purchasing Managers, Major Distribution Accounts, and Public Bodies
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools
- Utilization and maintenance of CRM tools for sales and activity reporting
- Ability to work well within a group in a team environment
- Self-motivating, problem-solving, capable of managing multiple projects.
- Grace under pressure and sharp analytical skills
- High-energy, results-oriented approach
- Works independently and effectively across global environments, with fluent Portuguese, and English considered a strong plus.
