Training Coordinator - 2nd Shift

We are seeking an energetic and influential Training Coordinator to support employee development, onboarding, and workforce readiness at our Lawrence, Kansas manufacturing facility. 

In this role, you will be the primary training resource for new and existing team members, helping employees build the skills, confidence, and knowledge needed to succeed in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. 

What You'll Do 

The Training Coordinator delivers hands-on and classroom training, evaluates employee performance, and partners with production leadership to ensure team members are prepared for success on the manufacturing floor. 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Facilitate onboarding and skills training for new and existing team members. 

  • Deliver engaging training sessions in the classroom, Training Cell, and production environment. 

  • Provide coaching, feedback, and development support to improve performance and reinforce best practices. 

  • Evaluate trainee progress through testing, observation, and performance assessments. 

  • Monitor employee certification progress and maintain accurate training records. 

  • Identify training needs through observation of production operations and employee performance. 

  • Assist with developing and updating training materials, procedures, guides, and visual aids. 

  • Partner with Human Resources and production leadership regarding workforce readiness, placement, and development recommendations. 

  • Coordinate with production management to support successful placement of new employees. 

  • Support Continuous Improvement (CI) and Operational Excellence (OpEx) projects and initiatives. 

  • Maintain certification in multiple manufacturing and support areas and provide operational support as needed. 

  • Identify opportunities to improve training processes and manufacturing operations. 

 

What Success Looks Like 

In this role, you will: 

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for new team members during onboarding and training. 

  • Deliver high-quality, consistent training that drives employee engagement and productivity. 

  • Build confidence and capability among team members through coaching and mentorship. 

  • Ensure training records, certifications, and evaluations are accurate and up to date. 

  • Support continuous improvement efforts that enhance employee development and operational performance. 

 

Qualifications 

Required Qualifications 

  • Minimum of one year of experience in Amarr manufacturing operations. 

  • Minimum of six months of experience using Navigator within Amarr manufacturing applications. 

  • Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills. 

  • Demonstrated ability to train, teach, coach, and mentor others. 

  • Ability to work effectively with employees across multiple departments and skill levels. 

  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously. 

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel. 

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment. 

  • Flexibility to support multiple manufacturing and operational areas.

Physical Requirements 

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods. 

  • Frequent bending, stooping, reaching, lifting, and carrying up to 50 pounds. 

  • Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination to work with hand and power tools. 

  • Ability to perform both manufacturing floor and office-related tasks.
