As we continue to grow, we are seeking a responsible and detail-oriented professional to join our team as a Maintenance Supervisor in our Lawrence, KS location.

 

A Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for directing and performing a variety of technical duties relating to mechanical, electrical, preventive maintenance and fabrication functions. Coordinates with other departments and assures that equipment and facilities are properly maintained for efficient production. Directs activities of janitorial staff.

 

SHIFT:  Monday through Friday 7:00 PM to 5:30 AM CST (some overtime may be required as needed)
 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Maintains adherence to company policy, safety standards, and good housekeeping practices.
  • Maintains good team member relations and adherence to company policy, takes proper and judicious disciplinary actions when required, and handles first-step grievances.
  • Communicates information and problems between maintenance shifts and management.
  • Provides direction and technical support to technicians relating to mechanical, electrical, preventive maintenance and fabrication functions.
  • Assumes other duties as assigned by supervisor.

 

TYPICAL DUTIES:

  • Supervises, provides support, and stimulates maximum efficiency and productivity to assigned lead and technicians.
  • Assures that parts, materials, and supplies are ordered and received as required.
  • Implements training and skill improvements of all technicians.
  • Assures that records of departmental activities are kept as required.
  • Schedules overtime as required.
  • Capable of operating production equipment for diagnostic purposes.
  • Assures efficient and economical utilization of material, improvement of methods, and elimination of wasteful practices within the department.

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Extended time on feet.
  • Manual dexterity and hand to eye coordination with hand/power tools.
  • Frequent stooping, bending, walking, carrying, and lifting (up to 50 pounds).
  • Reporting and clerical duties on a computer and/or tablet.  
  • Requires ability to work off ladders, scaffolding and scissors lifts.
  • Requires ability to do extended amounts of walking

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED (EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS):

  • Five (5) years of directly related experience with at least two (2) years of supervision experience.
  • Must be capable of communicating effectively, both orally and in writing, with hourly and management personnel.
  • Possess efficient and productive organizational, time management and analytical skills.
  • Possess mechanical competence and knowledge and use of safety conscious practices.
  • Electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic and mechanical skills.
  • Ability to operate forklifts and other equipment.
  • High school graduate or equivalent with additional training in mechanical or electrical technology.
