An Amarr Commercial Expert supports the ACE Team, and Company daily functions and assist with special and ongoing commercial projects involved in all aspects of selling and developing the Commercial product line. Assist Team Lead with expediting delayed or problem jobs. Support our commercial customers with the goal of improving the customer experience NPS, ACE Team revenue, Key Performance Metrics, and company EBIT.  

ESSENTIAL ACCOUNTABILITIES: (Bold statements indicate the most important duties performed)

  • Administer Commercial Direct Order Program.  Provide quotes, input and process orders, and invoice customers.
  • Configure and enter orders for custom (non-standard) commercial applications for door centers.
  • Provide technical support and quotes as required for all Amarr supplied commercial products including rolling sheet, rolling slat, sectional, operators, and other new and/or specialty items provided by Amarr.
  • Provide technical support and product information to customers, door centers, and other departments.
  • Provide quotes for commercial products to customers, door centers, and other departments.
  • Coordinate/expedite purchasing, production, and shipment of special items needed for commercial applications.
  • Provide excellent and expert customer service.
  • Provide or coordinate emergency technical support and parts replacement for installers of commercial products.
  • Research commercial projects that are in the planning stages and/or open for bid. Prepare competitive bids as needed for the installing dealer and/or Amarr F&I.
  • Provide quotes and technical support for dock equipment, high speed doors and other commercial specialty products to customers, door centers, and other departments.
  • Demonstrate proficiency with Amarr commercial Rolling Steel Slat and Sheet door products and programs while developing expert level knowledge by obtaining the latest training and certifications on the Rolling Steel Slat and Sheet door products and programs.
  • Develop proficiency with Amarr commercial specialty products and programs.
  • Perform administrative and business functions as directed by supervisor.
  • Communicate and maintain company policies, procedures and standard practices for all operations.
  • Interact with Engineering, Purchasing, and Management to ensure Amarr is utilizing appropriate and effective materials and processes for all commercial applications.
  • Ongoing review of ACE/Commercial processes and procedures. Suggest opportunities to reduce time/add value to the processes and assist with documentation as needed.
  • Review operations of competing organizations and makes recommendations where necessary. 
  • Basic understanding and proficiency training on Spec quoting based on project 3-Part Specifications listing substitutions and omissions.
  • As part of training, assist with Architectural packages, drawings, and take-offs as requested by your supervisor.
  • Basic understanding and proficiency training on the use of CSI / AIA forms and processes as needed during the spec sales process.
    1. Key Performance Metrics must be met and maintained as defined by Management.
  • Successful completion of 3 Sectional and 1 Rolling Steel “On-Site” installation training sessions at E3, Job Site, or location approved by the Director of Commercial Business.
  • Interacts and communicates with all levels of the organization on all issues pertaining to commercial products, commercial product development and existing product structure changes.
  • Book completions required with 1-page written summary of what the ACE Team member’s takeaways were:
    1. The Little Red Book of Selling (Jeffery Gitomer) or
    2. Specific book assignment as assigned by the Director of Commercial Business and ACE Team Manager
  • Demonstrate expert level knowledge and obtain the latest certifications in all commercial products, applications and programs carried by Amarr. This includes residential products used in commercial applications.
  • Review Architectural packages and drawings and provide job take-offs as required.
  • Demonstrates consistent leadership amongst team, is cooperative and supportive of all ACE Team members, avoids conflict, and displays a positive attitude and atmosphere.
  • Provide Spec quotes based on project 3-Part Specifications listing substitutions and omissions.
  • Provide consultation to Field Management on training issues including On-the-Job Training (OJT), sales training, customer service training, mentoring, etc.
  • Provide mentoring/training to other ACE Team members.
  • Identify architects involved with commercial door specification and contact as needed to include Amarr in the specific job specification and/or master spec. Follow-up as directed by your supervisor.
  • Demonstrate proficient knowledge and stay up to date on the latest residential products and programs.
  • Basic understanding of competitors’ commercial door models.
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills (sales skills).
  • Good supervisory skills.
  • Travel to commercial industrial dealers (several visits per year).



  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds and traverse uneven terrain on job sites



  • Must be able to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing, while working with various personalities throughout the company.
  • Must be able to research information and analyze data regarding commercial product issues.
  • Excellent technical aptitude.
  • Ability to read and do take-offs from architectural blueprints, specifications, and schematics.
  • Attain the certification from IDA for the “Commercial Sectional Door Systems Technician,” within 12 months of employment.
  • Attain the certification from IDA for the “Commercial Rolling Door Technician” within 12 months of employment.
  • Maintain all IDA certifications which requires 9 CE credits, in a 3-year renewal cycle.
  • 5-7 years Commercial door installation experience required.
  • 3-5 years Commercial door estimation experience preferred.
  • Demonstrate “Expert Level knowledge of all upward acting doors, including Windload applications.
  • CSI Certification needed (CDT) Must attain CDT certification within 12 months of employment. Must be able to understand and use the CSI / AIA forms and processes as needed during the spec sales process.
  • Good verbal, written and interpersonal skills (sales skills).
  • College education or related experience.
  • Organizational, time management and analytical skills.
  • Good interpersonal skills.
  • PC / Windows / Microsoft Office skills.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Must have the ability to plan and coordinate large projects while working with various departments at multiple locations.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to prepare and facilitate project meetings.
  • Basic understanding of Rolling Steel products and quoting.
  • Ability to work across departments and spot check job materials shipping from the Manufacturing Loading Docks.
  • Consistently demonstrates superior customer support, follow up, and dealer retention.
  • Sectional door install experience and/or sales of sectional doors is a plus.
