What you would do as our Trademark Portfolio Manager
As a Trademark Portfolio Manager at ASSA ABLOY, you are a key partner to the business, providing operational and strategic support in the protection and management of the division’s global trademark portfolio. This includes handling trademark filings, renewals, enforcement, and domain name matters that safeguard our brand identity across all markets. You’ll play an essential role in monitoring and maintaining the health of our trademark assets and initiating actions where needed to address third-party conflicts or misuse. Your work helps ensure our trademarks remain relevant, protected, and aligned with the business’s evolving needs.
This global team operates from our offices in Landskrona and Malmö, Sweden. You will report to the Head of Intellectual Property.
You would also:
- Act as the link between legal, marketing, and business teams to ensure accurate and effective trademark usage and protection across the company.
- Monitor global trademark and domain name watch services and assist in managing opposition, enforcement, and infringement cases.
- Administer trademark filings, renewals, and record updates across global jurisdictions, coordinating with external counsel and service providers.
- Maintain internal trademark records and databases (e.g., Ipendo) and support portfolio audits and clean-up projects.
- Support the preparation of documentation and reports related to trademark strategy, enforcement, and risk management.
- Represent the division in day-to-day trademark matters and contribute to cross-functional initiatives involving brand-related intellectual property.
The skills and experience you need
We are looking for someone who:
- Has at least five years of experience working independently as a trademark administrator or paralegal, preferably within industry or an IP law firm.
- Possesses strong knowledge of trademark law and procedures in key global markets, and understands domain name registration practices.
- Is proficient in using IP databases and docketing systems (e.g., Ipendo), as well as MS Office and communication tools like Microsoft Teams.
- Holds relevant education and professional experience in trademark or IP management; a law degree is considered a merit.
- Is fluent in English at a high professional level; proficiency in German and/or Swedish is an advantage.
The Trademark Portfolio Manager should demonstrate strong interpersonal and communication skills, with an open and inclusive attitude that enables effective collaboration across different corporate functions, cultures, and countries. Success in the role requires well-developed organizational skills and the ability to prioritize effectively in a fast-paced and cross-functional environment. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, detail-oriented, and committed to helping build and protect a strong global brand.
