What would you do as our Senior Legal Counsel – Privacy and Digital Compliance

The Senior Legal Counsel will play a central role in driving Entrance Systems’ data protection and digital compliance agenda. The position combines strong GDPR expertise with responsibility for interpreting and operationalising new regulatory frameworks such as the AI Act, Cyber Resilience Act, Data Act and NIS2. As the Data Protection Manager for the division, the role provides legal guidance, develops controls, policies and documentation, and supports both product-related and organisational compliance initiatives. It involves close collaboration with Information Security, Product Security, R&D and business leaders, ensuring that data protection and digital compliance requirements are embedded in products, projects and daily operations. This is a strategic, international role within a decentralised organisation, where the counsel acts as a trusted advisor and project leader across multiple regulatory domains.

 

You will report to the to the Entrance System Division General Counsel.

You would also:

  • Act as Data Protection Manager for the Entrance Systems Division, ensuring compliance with GDPR and other applicable data protection laws.
  • Provide legal advice related to data handling, digital compliance and regulatory requirements across business units and functions.
  • Develop and implement controls, guidelines, templates and supporting documentation for data protection and emerging digital compliance frameworks.
  • Lead and coordinate data protection and digital compliance projects, including assessments, reporting, awareness activities and training initiatives.
  • Support negotiation, drafting and review of agreements related to data protection and digital compliance, including DPAs and contractual risk assessments.

 

The skills and experience you need

We are looking for someone who has:

  • Master’s degree in law with strong academic performance.
  • 5–7 years of professional experience advising on GDPR, data protection and commercial legal matters.
  • Proven experience navigating and applying international data protection laws and emerging digital compliance frameworks.
  • Ability to translate complex regulatory requirements into clear, actionable guidance for technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience managing multiple legal and compliance projects in an international or decentralised environment.

 

Success in this role requires a proactive and structured mindset, with the ability to work independently while effectively guiding cross-functional teams. The ideal candidate demonstrates sound legal judgement, an analytical approach to complex regulatory questions and the confidence to stand firm when compliance risks need to be highlighted. Strong communication skills are essential, as the role involves adapting legal requirements for diverse audiences and ensuring alignment across decentralised teams. The counsel should be comfortable balancing commercial considerations with regulatory demands, driving clarity, building trust and supporting a culture of accountability and continuous compliance improvement.
