We are looking for a Category Manager Steel & Aluminum to join our Industrial Segment EMEA team. Based in Landskrona or at one of our BSIE EMEA production sites, you will play a key role in developing and executing sourcing strategies, optimizing supplier performance, and driving innovation in these essential categories.

This role requires an estimated 25% travel, offering exciting opportunities to connect with our global teams and suppliers.

What you will do as Segment Category Manager Steel & Aluminum

As our Category Manager Steel & Aluminum, you will lead the development and execution of sourcing strategies for Steel and Aluminum raw materials and -value-added products. With a focus on cost reduction, supplier performance, and innovation, you will develop and execute strategies to capitalize on cost reduction opportunities within the Industrial segment or in collaboration with other ASSA ABLOY businesses.

You would also:

  • Lead cross-functional project teams across production sites and product lines to achieve cost and performance goals.
  • Build and strengthen relationships with key suppliers, driving improvements in quality, cost, and delivery performance.
  • Collaborate with group and division-level sourcing teams to leverage scale and preferred suppliers effectively.
  • Manage sourcing strategies for product development projects, including supplier selection, negotiation, and qualification to meet project objectives.
  • Act as a change agent, contribute to a culture of continuous improvement and innovation across the supply chain.

 

The skills and experience you need

We are looking for someone who has:

  • 5–10 years of experience in strategic sourcing, including at least 2 years within a steel- related category. If you have experience from Aluminum sourcing is a merit.
  • A degree in Engineering or Business Administration.
  • An Experience in sourcing components and materials for industrial manufacturing, ideally within international organizations or in regions like Eastern Europe or Asia.
  • An Advanced proficiency in MS Excel and experience with BI tools (e.g., GEP, QlikView, Power BI). ERP and PDM system knowledge is meriting.
  • Fluency in English, both written and spoken.

The ideal candidate is a skilled communicator and negotiator with strong leadership abilities, capable of managing cross-functional teams within a matrix organization. They possess excellent project management skills, a proven ability to conduct complex spend analyses, and a commercial mindset that drives strategic decision-making and value creation.
