Android Developer — Mobile Service Tool
Location: Landskrona, Sweden (Hybrid)
At ASSA ABLOY Global Solutions, we build technology used every day in hotels around the world—24/7.
Our systems control access to hotel guest rooms, shared areas, and critical infrastructure. They must work every time.
We are looking for an Android Developer to help build and evolve our mobile service tools for Visionline and Vostio - apps used by technicians in real hotel installations to install, configure, and troubleshoot access systems. This is production software used in live environments where stability, security, and precision are essential.

Your role
You will join a cross-functional R&D organization responsible for Android-based service applications across both platforms.
You will work in a dedicated app team and collaborate closely with firmware engineers, backend developers, product owners, and UX designers. In total, around 60 colleagues contribute to these products. Your work directly impacts how efficiently and securely our systems are deployed and maintained worldwide.
What you will work with

Develop and evolve Android applications using Kotlin, Jetpack Compose, and modern Android architecture.

Implement workflows optimized for technicians in the field, focusing on robustness and usability.

Design offline-first capabilities and resilient error handling for real-world environments.

Collaborate closely across mobile, backend, firmware, and product developers.

Write clean, testable, and maintainable code.

Contribute to automated testing and CI/CD practices.
What will help you succeed
Required Qualifications

Several years of experience in modern Android development.

Strong Kotlin skills and experience with Jetpack Compose and Jetpack libraries.

Solid understanding of coroutines, Flow, and asynchronous programming.

Experience with architecture patterns such as Clean Architecture, MVI, or MVVM.

Experience with automated testing (unit, UI, integration).

Ability to take ownership and collaborate across technical domains.
Nice to have / Willigness to learn

Experience with Bluetooth/BLE, NFC, Zigbee, Thread, Matter communication.

Experience building secure or offline-capable applications.

Experience with Kotlin Multiplatform, backend/API design, or CI/CD pipelines.

Low-level communication experience (USB, protocol handling).

Cryptography knowledge (e.g., AES, encryption/decryption).
Location & ways of working
The role is based in Landskrona with hybrid flexibility.
Our teams collaborate extensively on-site, and we see clear value in being present in the office several days per week to build relationships and gain deep product understanding. There is also access to our Malmö office when needed.
