Sr. Manager, Corporate Environmental, Health, Safety (EHS) & Sustainability

Job Summary
The Corporate Environmental, Health, Safety (EHS) & Sustainability manager position is responsible for supporting all segment sites across Canada, the United States and Mexico. The primary focus is on providing a safe workplace for all associates in operational facilities. This position will be instrumental in driving EHS compliance, culture of safety excellence, sustainability, & operational excellence within our global manufacturing operations. This leadership role combines technical expertise, regulatory knowledge, and strategic thinking to ensure the safety and well-being of our employees and integrate sustainability into our operations. Additionally, the Corporate EHS & Sustainability Manager provides support to all sites worldwide as needed to supplement the local team’s abilities and integrate new sites into the segment’s EHS systems and programs. Please note, this position will be based in Lake Forest, CA and this person must be available to work onsite Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and will work remote Monday and Friday.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities
(30%) Environmental, Health, and Safety Leadership
- Drive a culture of safety excellence that aligns with corporate values through training, awareness programs, and stakeholder engagement.
- Partner with business leaders to embed EHS leadership into operational decision-making, capital projects, and daily management systems.
- Lead serious incident investigations and facilitate learning culture development, ensuring sustainable corrective actions and organizational learning.
(25%) Operational Sustainability
- Drive the Sustainability Program (SP2030), ensuring progress towards the program’s goals & targets.
- Support the segments progress towards science-based targets, addressing Scope 1 & 2 emissions, and long-term goals to achieve AA Group targets.
- Manage quarterly sustainability reporting, including data checks, generating scorecards and coordinating quarterly performance reviews with the sub-groups.
(20%) Regulatory Compliance
- Provide strategic assurance oversight through internal and third-party EHS compliance audits, ensuring consistency and readiness of EHS management systems.
- Provide site support regarding development of compliance solutions related to permits, EPA & OSHA compliance & reporting.
- Advise leadership teams on emerging regulatory trends and strategic risks that could affect business operations or reputation.
(25%) Management Systems & Performance Improvement
- Analyze enterprise-wide EHS and sustainability data to identify trends, risk exposures, and performance improvement opportunities.
- Lead global EHS Management System (MS) maturity development — ensuring alignment with ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 standards.
- Facilitate continuous improvement forums and capability building, ensuring all sites achieve annual EHS MS score improvements and meet global KPIs.
Education and Experience Profile
- Bachelor’s degree in occupational health and safety, environmental engineering, or other science or engineering related field required.
- Minimum ten years managing EHS functions in a vertically integrated manufacturing environment.
- Minimum three years managing multisite support structure.
Required Skills
- Extensive experience interpreting government regulations and industry standards.
- Extensive experience developing and implementing compliance programs for government regulations and industry standards.
- Extensive experience implementing ISO 14K & Sustainability initiatives related to manufacturing environments.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to positively influence individuals at all levels of the organization.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Strong analytical problem-solving skills.
Work Environment:
Working conditions are normal for an office environment and non-climate controlled manufacturing facility.
Must be able to travel domestically and internationally 50% of time.
Pay Range: $132,448-$208,133.
This “base salary range” is a reasonable estimate for this position at the time of posting. Pay within each range is based on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, to primary work job-related knowledge, skills, experience, business requirements and geographic location.
