Software Test Engineer Intern

 

Job Summary

We are looking for a highly motivated and practical Intern candidate to support the testing requirements of our Software Engineering team. Working closely with Software Quality Test Engineer team, the Software Test Engineer Intern will participate in the project involving test design, test execution, test report and learn the test methodologies and test automation. The Intern will have the opportunity to work with software, firmware, and hardware engineers on a regular basis. At the end or your internship, you will present your accomplishments and results to the Engineering Leadership team. Must be available to work onsite in our Lake Forest office 3 days a week for our hybrid schedule – Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. Will be remote Mondays and Fridays.

 

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • (40%) Setup and validation of Hardware, Firmware, and Software releases.
  • (10%) Perform root cause analysis.
  • (30%) Write and run test automation for App and cloud applications
  • (10%) Presentation support: assist in creating presentation models and materials for engineering and executive review.

 

Education and Experience Profile

  • Must currently be a 3rd of 4th year or recent graduate majoring in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or STEM related curriculum (required).
  • Basic knowledge of software engineering processes, agile framework, tools, methods, test development, algorithms and data structures.
  • Basic knowledge of code versioning tools, such as Git, is a plus.
  • Basic knowledge in the following programming languages: HTML5, JavaScript, CSS, Java Server / Client, C, C++, C#, Java or Python.
  • The ability to collaboratively work within a team environment and consistently make contributions to help the team reach their objectives.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills with various levels of corporate structure.
  • Self-starter attitude and proficient in managing independent schedule.

 

Work Environment:

  • Working conditions are normal for an office environment.
