Job Summary

 

Support cross-functional teams in New Product Introduction (NPI), Sustaining, Cost Improvement, or other areas based on business requirements.  Assure projects can meet cost, quality, and timing requirements. Work with NPI teams from concept stage until a working manufacturing and distribution system is established.

 

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

 

  • Support the overall execution of assigned New Products assuring project targets are achieved relative to safety, ergonomics, environment, investment cost, product unit cost, quality, timing, fill rate, working capital, and capacity.
  • Lead all activities related to specific new product introductions with primary accountability to the Mechanical Operations Team, especially focusing on developing and executing plans for physical production, material planning, and quality control.
  • Collaborate with cross functional departments such as Engineering, Manufacturing Sites, Industrial Design, Packaging, Sourcing, Supply Chain, Quality, Finance and Marketing.
  • Maintain communication channels with plant management staff and NPI team leaders regarding project status.
  • Coordinate with manager to develop and execute the manufacturing plans for new products.
  • Support adherence to the global new product and sustaining roadmaps, project milestone process and metrics.
  • Coordinate all areas including tariffs, funding, product costs, product quality, productivity, safety, ergonomic, environmental, space and timing limitations.
  • Execute risk management via identification, quantification, response development and control.
  • Report out monthly to Senior Management at Product Development Reviews.
  • Develop skill sets to take on additional responsibilities including but not limited to overall management of assigned new projects

 

Education and Experience Profile

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or technical field (Engineering or Operations) preferred.
  • 2-6 years’ experience in project management
  • Two plus (2+) years with experience in high volume, consumer product manufacturing environment preferred

 

Required Skills

  1. Effective interpersonal skills and communication skills are essential. 
  2. Use of Excel to analyze SAP data and make recommendations on required actions to support project goals
  3. Project management experience with automation/capital projects that utilized concurrent engineering.
  4. Basic understanding of project milestones methodology
  5. Must be able to thrive in a global team-based, matrix environment.
  6. Must be able to work and thrive in a global team-based environment
  7. High level of organizational skills
  8. A general understanding of zinc die casting, stamping, forging, automated assembly, metal finishing are pluses.
  9. Demonstrated ability to understand product technical requirements and work with Engineering and Quality teams to implement effective production controls

 

Work Environment:

 

Working conditions are normal for a plant or office environment.

Domestic and International travel up to 25% required.

 

Pay Range: $80,000 to $120,000.

 

This “base salary range” is a reasonable estimate for this position at the time of posting. Pay within each range is based on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, to primary work job-related knowledge, skills, experience, business requirements and geographic location.
