Job Summary

The Payroll Specialist will work directly with ASSA ABLOY Americas Residential Payroll team to ensure timely and accurate processing of payrolls for multiple countries as assigned.  The incumbent will be responsible for all tasks necessary to accomplish the organization's payroll processing objectives, including relationships with other HR staff, payroll vendors, internal and external auditors and state and federal agencies. 

 

Assist with managing payroll tax reporting, including processing, and maintaining paperwork related to all aspects of the employment taxes. Maintain communications between the company and all relevant vendors and regulatory agencies. Conduct research on tax compliance issues and possible accounting discrepancies. Ensures compliance with laws and company policies. Provides interactive support with payroll to ensure proper payment, funding and taxation of company payroll taxes.

 

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Primary objective is to process payroll for multiple countries as assigned in a timely and accurate manner while providing excellent customer service to all levels of employees.
  • Manage international payroll data through various sources, including Excel, SuccessFactors, third party payroll vendors.
  • Ensure all payroll data is in compliance with applicable regional and country specific payroll regulations and corporate policies.
  • Audit changes (new hires/joiners, pay changes, terminations/leavers) that come from SuccessFactors HRIS each pay period to ensure payroll accuracy.
  • Approve/reject payroll inputs in the payroll system each payroll run, working directly with the payroll vendor to ensure timely and accurate submission.
  • Maintain supplemental payroll inputs such as wage garnishments, loans, or levies.
  • Review and load timecard data from local time tracking systems into the payroll system.
  • Ensure payroll results and general ledger reports are transmitted to Finance.
  • Support reporting, tax filing, and vendor requests pertaining to each payroll run.
  • Running reports as requested by the business.
  • Initiate the pay cycles and resolve pay generation issues.
  • Review system generated reports, determine if accurate processing was accomplished, and correct any errors.
  • Perform tasks to establish and maintain employee payroll records.
  • Perform payroll control reconciliations.
  • In collaboration with external provider, stay current on payroll practices and regulations for assigned countries.
  • Develop relationships with provider, HR leaders and Country HR Managers to ensure the smooth flow of payroll related information.
  • Generate off-cycle payments as required.
  • Responsible for answering employee questions and troubleshooting issues in a timely manner.
  • Ensure all payroll taxes are calculated correctly and filed on time.
  • Stay updated on tax jurisdiction changes and maintain compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Process tax adjustments, amendments, and year-end tax forms (W-2, T4, etc.).
  • Liaise with authorities for payroll tax-related inquiries or audits.
  • Manage garnishments, withholdings, and other legally mandated deductions

 

Education and Experience Profile

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Payroll, Accounting, HR, or Finance, and;
  • A minimum of 2 years hands-on payroll tax reporting and compliance experience.
  • At least +2 years of experience processing payroll for salaried and hourly employees.
  • Expert knowledge of payroll systems and HRIS (i.e., Dayforce, Workday, SuccessFactors, Talent Works).
  • Prior payroll processing experience with more than one country preferred.
  • Requires 3+ years’ related experience in a professional role.
  • Experience with cloud-based payroll systems, preferably working with outsourced services.
  • Experience with time shift models.

 

Required Skills

  • Requires knowledge of standard payroll concepts, practices, and procedures.
  • Fluent in English, multilingual a plus.
  • Must demonstrate the highest degree of confidentiality and integrity.
  • Knowledgeable of Sarbanes-Oxley controls.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Programs such as Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Access.
  • Strong analysis auditing skills with expert time management, problem-solving, & strong data analysis skills.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to complete tasks efficiently, timely and accurately.
  • Must be able to work and thrive in a global team-based environment.
  • Ability to work independently as well as in Teams, propose solutions to problems, and multi-task.
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment, set priorities in order to meet deadlines, organize, implement, and administer effectively in all areas of accountability.
  • Exceptional attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated maturity, sensitivity, and respect in dealing with different level of employees in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of all employee data.
  • Proven ability to function well under pressure.
  • Strong high-level of customer service skills and highly effective and creative communication skills.

 

Work Environment:

  • Working conditions are normal for an office environment.
  • Hybrid work in office 3 days/week.

 

Pay Range: $55,494-$81,392.

 

This “base salary range” is a reasonable estimate for this position at the time of posting. Pay within each range is based on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, to primary work job-related knowledge, skills, experience, business requirements and geographic location. ASSA ABLOY conducts regular review of compensation ranges and therefore reserves the right to alter this range at any given time.
