Engineer, Electronic (Production Test)

Job Summary:

The Electronics Engineer (Production Test) is a leading corporate representative for any testing/detection systems for our factories and suppliers.  The Electronics Engineer will provide clarity and vision regarding production test strategy and implementations worldwide.  The Electronics Engineer will be responsible for analyzing new products to determine and implement appropriate manufacturing test processes and detections.  The Electronics Engineer will design, implement, maintain, and improve factory production test methods and systems. The Electronics Engineer has a leadership role in planning and executing new product introductions as they transition from design to manufacturing.

 

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • (20%) Design appropriate test systems for production level testing based on product design and specifications from design engineering.
  • (20%) Lead the implementation, validation, and troubleshooting of factory firmware update and provisioning tools.
  • (15%) Coordinate between factory test engineers, design engineers, contract manufacturer and quality team to determine root cause and corrective action for failed PCBAs and finished good.
  • (10%) Supervise contract manufacturer and suppliers to create test strategy and implementation of manufacturing test.
  • (10%) Design, implement and sustain data output from production test to aid in quality control and SPC detections (Yields, failure codes, parametric, etc.)
  • (10%) Coordination and/or building of test systems including test fixtures, programming stations, cables, and Software.
  • (10%) Lead the production implementation, validation, and troubleshooting of test, FW/SW programming and provisioning systems. Drive activities to closure with cross-functional teams (Engineering, Project Management, Process Engineering, Quality).
  • (5%) Consistently identify, plan and implement improvement projects focused on production test processes that influence customer satisfaction, waste elimination, growth, cost effectiveness, and product/system quality. Create and maintain standardized test systems and process documentation in accordance with corporate production test requirements

 

Education and Experience Profile:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electronics, HW/SW or related field plus 3 - 5 years of hands-on experience.
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting PCB schematics and layout designs, with the ability to identify and troubleshoot circuit functionality and design issues.
  • Understanding of embedded systems, microcontrollers, sensors and firmware development flow.
  • Familiarity with embedded C programming and scripting languages.
  • Experience with production test fixtures, firmware flashing, serialization and traceability.
  • Excellent communication & interpersonal skills along with the ability to work in a large team environment.
  • Estimated percentage of travelling required 15% (including international)

 

Work Environment:

  • Working conditions are normal for production/ office environment. However, travel conditions include prolonged flights, car travel, and other exposures such as unusual weather or food, as expected during international travel. 

 

   Pay Range: $71,403-$104,725.

 

This “base salary range” is a reasonable estimate for this position at the time of posting. Pay within each range is based on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, to primary work job-related knowledge, skills, experience, business requirements and geographic location. ASSA ABLOY conducts regular review of compensation ranges and therefore reserves the right to alter this range at any given time.
