The Director of Platform & Portfolio Management is a BU-level product leadership role responsible for defining and governing the platform strategy and cross-segment portfolio across the Reader Business Unit.
The role owns Product Management for shared platforms and core capabilities that span EAT RFID, Janam, TSL, and Acura portfolios. Segment Product Management teams retain ownership of segment-specific products and roadmaps, with a dotted-line relationship to ensure alignment, reuse, and portfolio discipline.
This is not a P&L-owning role. It exists to create leverage through platform reuse, coherent portfolio decisions, and disciplined investment governance across the Reader BU.

Essential Duties: Other duties may be assigned
- Define and own the Reader BU platform strategy and multi-year platform roadmaps.
- Drive platform reuse, standardisation, and modularity across all Reader BU segments.
- Lead portfolio-level prioritisation and rationalisation of shared platforms and core technologies.
- Establish and track platform and portfolio KPIs (adoption, reuse, gross contribution impact).
- Provide functional leadership to Segment Product Management teams via dotted-line governance.
- Ensure segment roadmaps align with platform architecture and do not diverge without approval.
- Partner with Segment Leaders, Product Management, Engineering, Operations, and Quality teams to translate platform strategy into executable delivery plans.
- Ensure platform roadmaps reflect aggregated requirements from all segments, strategic OEM engagements, and ecosystem partnerships, without bias toward any single route-to-market.
- Lead platform-level Lean Portfolio Management and SAFe-aligned planning.
- Support major bids and customer engagements with platform direction and commercial input.
- Ensure platform compliance with regulatory, cybersecurity, IP, and supply-chain requirements.
Education and/or Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Technology, or related field required; MBA preferred.
- 12+ years of relevant Product Management or Product Strategy experience.
- Proven senior Product Management or Portfolio leadership experience in RFID, secure access, IoT, or enterprise mobility.
- Experience owning platform-level strategies across multiple product lines or segments.
- Strong understanding of RFID and proximity technologies (LF, HF/NFC, UHF, BLE).
- Demonstrated ability to operate in global, matrixed environments.
- Experience with Agile and SAFe / Lean Portfolio Management practices.
- Ability to effectively communicate in the English language, both verbally and in writing.
- Proven ability to communicate, influence, and present credibly at executive level, both in face-to-face meetings and via virtual or web-based platforms.
- Proficiency in additional languages is advantageous in a global operating environment, particularly for engagement across multiple regions.

- Travel and fieldwork, including international travel may be required. Therefore, employee must possess, or be able to acquire a valid passport.
