What you would do as our Splunk Engineer

As our Splunk Engineer within our Global IT Shared Service Centre (GROUP IT), you’ll be reporting to the Security Operations Team Leader. In this role, you will be supporting our global infrastructure services as our last-line support, as well as focusing on continuously improving cybersecurity operations through close collaboration with internal teams and external partners.

 

Global IT Shared Service Centre covers ASSA ABLOYs shared infrastructure, international application, application management, and security within a globally distributed solutions environment. Our strategy is for the services we offer to be outsourced in a multi-sourcing setup.

 

You will support ASSA ABLOY Group IT Infrastructure services globally by managing incidents, handling monitoring alerts, acting as a key escalation point, and helping align infrastructure design with security policies. A vital part of the role involves ensuring processes are well-defined, and documentation is up to date.

 

You’ll collaborate with a diverse IT team and interact with engineers, management, and external agencies to increase the IT infrastructure’s understanding of quality and efficiency, as well as to plan for future growth.

You would also:

  • Develop, implement, and monitor applicable metrics for related operations and provide reports to our customers as well as help other teams monitor performance and different critical values of servers, software, and hardware.
  • Process, organize, analyze, and assist in contextualizing incident indicators, supporting Incident Response by providing analysis of incidents and analyze collected logs to find potential issues to improve the infrastructure’s performance.
  • Manage permissions for the toolset used by the Cyber Security, configure internal systems, diagnose and troubleshoot technical issues as well as plan and deploy new applications and other requirements.
  • Supervise the Operations team with incoming queries.
  • Actively participate in projects related to Cyber Security areas within the organization.
  • Assist ASSA ABLOY Group with security assessment of newly acquired companies.
  • Participate in self-development courses within the area of the Cyber Security, ensuring your own proficiency with onboarding new data into Splunk including analysis of data,  observing trends and building dashboards showing anomalies.

 

The skills and experience you need

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has at least 3 years of experience with Splunk operations and maintenance.
  • Holds a Splunk Administrator Certification and has hands-on experience with Splunk IT Service Intelligence.
  • Has scripting skills in at least one of the following languages: Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
  • Has some experience in Linux Environment.
  • Possesses strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Communicates effectively in Polish and English, both spoken and written.
  • Is available to work in our Krakow office in a hybrid setup as per the business needs

 

Splunk Certified Architect Certification and experience automating Splunk deployments using Ansible and Git would be beneficial for this role, however, is not required.
