As our Release Train Engineer Agile Coach, you’ll support HID’s success by:
- Working with a program team(S) to optimize the flow of value across the entire value stream including both the development and operation value streams
- Working with Product Management to frame product vision, roadmaps and assist in backlog management
- Coordinating across teams and functions for SAFe event preparation and execution
- Facilitating ART level event, release planning
- Being able to mentor/ coach Lean Agile concepts at any level or role
- Facilitating both on site and remote working sessions involving few to many participants
- Being involved in setting standards for their organization and providing problem solving guidance for decision making that affects not only their business but perhaps other teams in the greater company
- Being able to work with the teams to identify big issues and opportunities for the organization to improve the way solutions and services are evolved and delivered
- Primary Duties
- Working with Product Management to frame product vision, roadmaps, and assist in portfolio management
- Applying coaching techniques in addition to mentoring and teaching at any level of the organization and all stakeholders within and external to the ART
- Organizing and Facilitating all ART Events both in person or remote
- Being able to both teach and coach project teams to effectively use agile frameworks (i.e. Scrum or SAFe) that result in positive outcomes in project execution
- Being accountable for continuously improving the rigor of effective and consistent project management practice and growing the maturity of agile ways of working
- Teaching and coaching effective design for risk methodologies that improves development teams’ ability to uncover and effectively mitigate unknowns early and continuously within the development cycle
- Being able to assess the use of process automation tools and be able to identify areas of improvement
- Aligning measurement systems, metrics, strategic goals and customer experience
- Reinforcing the adoption of the Product Innovation Process across the company and initiating improvement opportunities in the overall process where needed
- Improving governance processes and visual controls
- Facilitating internal audits and assessments
Your Experience and Background include:
- Engineering degree or equivalent and minimum of 12+ years of related experience
- 5+ years in effective coaching individuals and teams in Lean Development and Agile ways of working SAFe Release Train Engineer (RTE) Certification or equivalent
- Experience in developing effective training materials and approach that has resulted in improved knowledge and skill sets
- Experience in process automation tools
- Experience in facilitation and coaching of cross functional teams
- Comprehensive knowledge and demonstrated application of lean principles and the scientific method to problem solving
- Experience as instructor / trainer
- A proven track record of delivering tangible cost savings and/or process improvements that create a better customer experience
- Undergraduate degree required, science/engineering preferred
- Understands the tradeoffs between technical, analytical, and product needs and is able to lead peers/group to solutions that take all fo these needs into account
- Ability to effectively communicate in the English language verbally and in writing
- Ability to read and interpret technical journals, specifications, international technical standards, etc.
- Be able to create and deliver clear and informative presentations to a wide audience (from shop floor through senior executives)
- Must be able to connect with people at all levels and all parts of the organization to influence, gain trust, and facilitate change
- Proficient in MS Office applications, such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
- Proficient with Project Management tools (ex. Oracle Agile PLM, Confluence, Jira)
