Role description:

Microsoft Cloud Architect is a position within Global IT Shared Service Center (GSSC) and reports to Manager – Global Cloud Services. Global IT Shared Service Centre manages ASSA ABLOYs shared infrastructure, global applications, and security for all globally managed solutions. 

 

What you would you do as our Microsoft Cloud Architect.:

Our enterprise business is seeking a highly skilled Microsoft Cloud Architect to lead the development and implementation of our Azure infrastructure. In this role, you will be responsible for the design and implementation of our Microsoft Cloud environments to support our enterprise-wide applications and services. You will work closely with our operations and development teams to ensure our environments are highly available, secure, and scalable. Additionally, you will be an integral member of our Cloud Center of Excellence (CCoE) to drive cloud adoption and governance best practices across the organization.

 

Strong engineering background and willingness to work hands-on are required. Your main task will be to define cloud design and standards for the entire company worldwide.

 

Responsibilities and Challenges:

  • Develop and implement Microsoft Cloud infrastructure architecture to support enterprise applications and services
  • Develop and maintain automation scripts using mostly Terraform and PowerShell
  • Lead efforts to optimize Microsoft Cloud infrastructure performance and ensure high availability and reliability
  • Collaborate with the DevOps and development teams to ensure that Microsoft Cloud infrastructure meets business requirements and is easily manageable
  • Provide expert-level guidance and support to operations and development teams on Microsoft Cloud infrastructure-related issues
  • Develop and maintain cloud governance policies and standards
  • Establish processes for cloud cost optimization and management
  • Provide training and mentorship to teams on cloud best practices and technologies
  • Stay up-to-date with emerging Microsoft technologies and trends
  • Work in close cooperation with other Architects and Service Owners, focused on different areas
  • Lead cloud-to-cloud and datacenter-to-cloud migrations, as well as handle them personally
  • Fulfill a technical escalation role for Cloud Operations Center Team (after-hours may be required)
