As our Regional Sales Manager, you’ll support HID’s success by:
- Sales Leadership & Execution :Own and drive sales performance for HID’s biometric product and software portfolio within Japan, focusing on both enterprise and public sector customers. Define and execute the go-to-market strategy, ensuring alignment with HID’s global sales objectives and local market dynamics. Engage directly with key decision-makers across ministries, integrators, and enterprise clients to identify opportunities and close complex, high-value deals.
- Market Development & Expansion: Build a robust opportunity pipeline in strategic verticals such as national ID programs, border management, eKYC, financial inclusion, and access control modernization. Monitor competitive intelligence, market trends, and procurement initiatives to anticipate customer needs and position HID’s biometric offerings effectively. Represent HID at key industry forums, conferences, and government events in Japan.
- Channel & Partner Management: Identify, recruit, and manage local channel partners, system integrators, and distributors. Strengthen partner enablement programs with training, joint marketing initiatives, and co-development of major bids and RFPs. Ensure partners meet sales, certification, and compliance requirements in accordance with HID standards.
- Collaboration & Internal Alignment : Work cross-functionally with Product Management, Engineering, Marketing, Finance, and Operations teams to ensure customer success and operational efficiency.Contribute market intelligence to influence product roadmap priorities, localization needs, and innovation focus for Japan and APAC

Qualifications:
To succeed in this role, the ideal candidate will have a strong background in enterprise sales, with a proven history of successfully managing complex projects across both the Public Sector and Commercial markets. 10–15 years of enterprise sales experience in biometric technology, secure identity, or cybersecurity industries.
Proven success in selling multi-modal biometric systems, including face recognition (contactless), fingerprint, iris, and AFIS/ABIS platforms.
In-depth knowledge of biometric algorithms, SDKs, and system integration models (hardware and software).
Experience in large-scale deployments for national ID, border control, financial KYC, or smart city projects.
Strong understanding of public procurement and tender processes in Japan, including government RFPs, compliance, and technical evaluation stages.
Demonstrated ability to negotiate and close complex enterprise deals with multi-stakeholder engagement.
Strong experience managing partners and distributors in a structured channel model.
Data-driven approach to performance tracking, pipeline management, and forecasting.
Education / Cultural Fit:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering, or a related field. An MBA or advanced degree is preferred. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment focused on innovation in biometric technology.
- Willingness to travel as necessary to engage with customers, partners, and the sales team across the target region.
Language Skills - Cultural Fit
- Fluent in Japanese (native level) and English (business level) — both written and verbal.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills with a high degree of cultural awareness.
- Entrepreneurial mindset, self-motivated, and effective in a matrixed, multicultural organization.
Work Requirements
- Compliance to all relevant HID Global policies and procedures related to Quality, Security, Safety, Business Continuity, and Environmental systems
- Travel and fieldwork, up to 50%, including international travel may be required. Therefore, employee must possess or be able to acquire a valid passport.
