Firmware Developer
We’re seeking a Firmware Engineer to develop embedded systems that power our intelligent lighting and guest room control platforms. You’ll work on systems that manage lighting, HVAC, motorized shades, occupancy sensing, and user interfaces—ensuring seamless performance, luxury-grade reliability, and integration with hotel systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop embedded firmware (C/C++) for lighting and guest room control systems, including dimmers, sensors, relays, touch panels, and smart thermostats
- Design and test Firmware for controlling Guest Room Control, lighting, HVAC, shading, and other in-room products
- Integrate communication protocols like DALI, DMX, RS-485, Modbus, and 0-10V for room and building system interfaces
- Conduct board bring-up, hardware validation, and firmware debugging using industry-standard lab tools
- Familiar with Silicon Labs microcontrollers and Zigbee stacks (e.g., EmberZNet PRO) and Atmel touch-enabled microcontrollers.
- Developing and implementing touch-based user interfaces for embedded devices.
- Understanding microcontrollers, RTOS (real-time operating systems), and resource-constrained environments.
- Embedded Linux knowledge would be an asset
- Optimizing firmware for efficiency and real-time processing.
- Working with cloud platforms and protocols (e.g., Google Assistant, Amazon Alexa).
- Identifying and resolving firmware issues.
- Capable to troubleshoot firmware/hardware
- Author detailed design documentation, installation manuals, and test procedures
- Implement comprehensive testing procedures to ensure firmware meets performance requirements and security standards
- Ensure products meet safety, EMI, and reliability standards (e.g., UL, FCC, CE)
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Technologies, Computer Science
- 3+ years of experience in embedded firmware/Hardware
- Experience with microcontrollers (e.g., STM32, NXP, Silicon Labs) and embedded C/C++
- Familiarity with guest room control systems and lighting control protocols (DALI, DMX, 0-10V, etc.) would be an asset
- Experience working with low-voltage systems (24VDC, 120/277VAC interfaces)
